What is error code -49

It's because Time Machine (on the MacBook only) tries to create something called a local backup, at the same time that iMovie is trying to export the movie. This locks the file so that iMovie can't write to it, so the export fails.

You don't have to turn off Time Machine, just disable the local backup feature, which is useless

anyway.

Well, now that I know that I can use Time Machine even if disconnected from my Time Capsule, and being away from home 5 days in row 40 times a year, its not that useless to me after all.
