Bought a movie on itunes and now it says, 'The requested URL was not found on this server.' HELP
I bought a tv show on iTunes through my iPad and got the same error!
I don't think it's my iPad because previously purchased tv shows play okay. I synced my iPad with iTunes on my computer, and the show plays okay in iTunes on my computer. I tried re-syncing it and rebooting my iPad, but am getting the same results.
I sent a message to Apple Support about this just now and am waiting for a reply hopefully by tomorrow.
I got a reply from Apple Support yesterday with the following instructions:
"please delete the episode from your iPad and then redownload it directly to the device. You can download past tv show, app, music, and book purchases without incurring additional charges as long as what you want to download is showing on your Purchased page. Some content may not be available for download again if its provider no longer offers it on the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.
To enable this feature, you must have the latest version of iTunes. It is available on the Apple website:
http://www.itunes.com/download
The latest version of iTunes will not affect your library or any items in your account.
To learn how to download past purchases, check out this article:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

I tried it out this morning, and it worked.
Thanks for the advice! But do you delete it on your itunes then just redownload it from there?
Go to iTunes on your device and delete it from there, then redownload it on your device. You want to make sure you have the latest version of iOS on your device. You also have to have the latest version of iTunes.
Thank you! This worked for me and I had the same issue.
Doesn't work for me since the films I have the problem with are both ripped from my DVD collection.
I'm now on wifi and still can't play them.
I have found a solution for my problem, which was with ripped DVD I own. The moment I deleted them on my phone and synchronised again, I no longer had the URL error message.
Please note you have to do remove each film from the iPhone, and you need to sync twice. The 1st time to get it off the phone (since you've deleted it there, iTunes needs to know this). The 2nd time, select the films again in iTunes and launch a new synchronisation. A couple of minutes later, the films are ready to be watched.
The same process can certainly be used with paid or rented content as well.
Yes for TV shows books and music, but for movies you can't REDOWNLOAD.
What would really help is if someone could actually define what this means?
The requested URL is not found on this server
URL? But it's stored in the memory!
worked well..... but had to redownload 20+ videoclips purchased ...... not happy with this and hope this does not happen again ..... thanks!
