itunes keeps opening!

I was also able to fix it by connecting my iPhone to the computer and turning off the sync by Wi-Fi. Poor planning to have a feature that can't be used. It did not ask to delete anything as another post mentioned.

I see three possible solutions for Apple to make.

1) Possibility, iTunes should not open just because it detects a Wi-Fi device. If you want to Sync then you open iTunes yourself then it syncs either by cable or Wi-Fi. It would continue to open if connected by cable.

2) Posibility, The software can identify the device that was detected. If the device has been synced in the last 24 hours then iTunes does not open for Wi-Fi Sync.

3) Possibility, Have an application on the phone to sync. If it detects the network then it does. If it doesn't detect the network it lets you know that it can not sync until you are on the network.

Hopefully Apple will resolve this issue. Wi-Fi sync is a great idea, but if you have to turn it off so it doesn't keep opening iTunes then it is worthless.

I am now using Ecoute for listening to my iTunes library - a breath of fresh air. Can't wait for Ecoute for iOS to come out. I love Apple products but their software is starting to remind me of Windows!

I am too having the same issue, but this is happening through the new ios 5 and icloud, becuase the phones are synced up to the itunes wifi now everytime youre phone is in use or unlocked i tunes will open up. the configuration i am currently using is one apple account for two iphones whcih are both synced to two sepearte laptops in two different cities. it would be helpful if apple required itunes to be running while the phone is in use to just have it running in the background of the windows base opperating system. and only execute the software when the iphone or apple device is plugged into the computer via usb.

I think I may have found a fix! Click on Edit, then Preferences, then Devices. Click the checkbox that says "Prevent iPhones, iPods, and iPads from syncing automatically".

Everytime I start iTuns and exit it, it starts itself agian but I do not ahve an iPhone, could it be related? I have Windows 7 64-bit.
