Converting .wav's to .mov's

Whenever I try to convert (ie. export) a .wav file to a .mov file in Quicktime Pro I get the 'Error:-2048 this file is not a movie file' message. I managed to convert a couple of .wav's early on so I know it is capable but why am I now getting this message every time? Pls help.
