Copying iTunes music to a USB drive for car audio

Hi there I have been trying to copy my iTunes library to a USB Flash Drive which will then be plugged into my cars USB drive.

At the moment some tracks work & some tracks don't? I presume it may be something to do with what format the tracks have been saved in? I currently have iTunes set to import as apple lossless which I want to keep but maybe this is why they won't play on my USB drive?

Is there any way I can make all the tracks work on my car USB drive.

Thanks

Andy

Great advice! Now maybe you can help with this. I have ACC and MP3 files of some songs,

Why? Since MP3 will play in just about anything, including iTunes and car players, what value are you getting from also having the AAC files?

I'd like to know which is which so that I know what to load onto a USB playlist. Also it would be nice not to look at duplicates of every song.

Use Limnos's method to determine which is the MP3. Keep it and delete the AAC. Going forward, make sure that all music you rip, purchase, or otherwise acquire is in MP3 format.
