iOS 5 VERY Slow Internet on iPhone 4

I am having similar issues with my iPhone 4S. It only started a week or so ago, before that it worked fine. I have done hard resets and erased network data. All fix the problem but only temporarily. I've found the quickest way to fix it is to turn Airplane Mode on briefly and then turn it back off. The big difference I've seen compared to others on this thread is that this happens both on wifi and 3G. No other devices on my wifi network are experiencing the problem. I have also noticed extremely heavy battery usage when this is happening. Very annoying!

I wanted to give it some time first, but it has been 24 hours since the issue has stopped just as mysteriously as it started.

So it only acted this way for about 2 1/2 days, then back to normal.

The only methods I tried when the issue arose were:

cache/history clearing

Hard reset

(couldn't even run SpeedTest, just say idle 10+ min.)

As of yesterday (Wednesday 11/02) afternoon it just started working again (ALL apps so far are fine)

I bought IPhone 4S before 2 days, I am from Singapore , I am using Starhub service provide, My data speed is very slow, most of the time my application gives message"Please check your Internet connection", "Connection error. Please try again later" , also if I browse any website on IPhone 4s , some time it take huge time to open and some time it does not open. I don't know what to do.

I just noticed when I post above article at that time my "3G" ( in Top bar) was missing , after few minutes that automatically "3G" is appearing ( expected ) , then phone start to work normally ( connecting with Internet properly). so conclusion - Actually 3G signal is being drop in IPhone 4s , that why it become difficult to connect with Internet .

Once it drop "3G" in IPhone 4s , it shows 'O' symbol (GPRS signal) in place of "3G" .

Remember that an awful lot of people have just started using iPhones and your network provider will not be fully geared up to cope with deamdn.

This happened with O2 in the UK when I bought my iP4 18 months ago.

They will catch up eventually.

However, this doesn't explain any slow connection using Wi-Fi, which must be purely down to iOS5

I have had this very same problem. I didn't notice it after doing any updates on my phone, it just started randomly a few weeks ago. Anything that uses the network basically just times out, web pages won't load, texts won't send, apps hang. I'll get brief moments where everything works fine and then it goes back to not loading anything. Everything loads perfectly when I am on wifi too. I have ATT but am def not one of the people getting throttled, what gives?
