iOS 5 VERY Slow Internet on iPhone 4

Never mind, a double hard restart only worked for about 15 minutes, then it started CRAWLING again. It just took about 3 minutes to open this page. Sorry for the hasty reply.

I have had the same issues after the upgrade. I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 5 and since then the 3g has been practically unusable. WiFi works perfectly fine but I can not get websites to load or email attachments to come up with out a WiFi connection.

I got my 4S on the first day out and only started having this same issue yesterday.

Prior to that the 3G speed was lightening fast, but now it's ridiculously slow.

WIFI is the only way for now (internet only, phone calls and texts seem fine on 3G)

First, clear all histories and cookies data etc and then hold down the home button+lock key for s few seconds and it will reboot.. Maby that helps. /PD

No luck for me using that method.

ask your operator then if u haven't already done that.

Install Speedtest.net onto your phone and run a test.

It will tell you your upload and download speed over 3G or Wi-Fi and that will tell you if your phone is transferring data fast enough

If it is, download Opera Mini or another web browsing app and see if that works faster than Safari.

Those tests might point you in the right direction

Aso try resetting your Network settings (Settings, General, Reset, Reset Network Settings)

Having the same issue. I just did 2 hard restarts and ran speed test...2.0 download and 0.5 upload over 3g with 4-5 bars. I also cleared everything in Safari. CNNs mobile page took 1 min 20 sec to fully load. slickdeals.net took 3 minutes. It's not just websites...my apps take forever to update and just opening an email with only text takes a long time. Ran a speed test after doing the above tests...download 2.8 upload 0.6. Every once in a while they load quickly. I don't understand...I have a 32gb 4S

I've had this exact same problem.

I've done the following things to try to fix it:

*Clear Safari Cookies, history and cache

*delete unused apps

*Hard Reset

*Reset Network settings

*Double Hard Reset

When I did a speed test twice in a row I got:

1. 0.00 Download 0.66 Upload

2. 1.4 Download 0.00 Upload

This shows the spotiness of this connection issue.

I hope we get some answers about resolving this terrible issue.

I'm glad I am not imagining this issue. My internet is horrible now. I can't do anything. It is making this phone basically useless. I can't even get anything pulled up in the Apple App Store.

Still having same problem - 3 days now. What's odd is that I'll have the full 5 bars in 3G and wifi, but reception and transmission are STILL very slow. Also, it's inconsistent, sometimes it opens web pages pretty slowly (30 seconds), the next minute, those same web pages will take 3-5 minutes to load or time out! It's also not just the Internet - YouTube is impossible, the bar crawls IF it moves at all.

I've tried everything everyone has suggested (thanks for trying to help), but nothing has helped. I'm on the road and NEED this phone to work. VERY frustrating.

I am also having the same issue. I did the double reset, cleared Safari, checked running applications. Over WiFi, it is running like a champ. As soon as it is 3G only, it slows down to a crawl. It is almost unusable with how slow it is.

I have a serious problem on safari after 'downgrading' to ios5 on my iPhone4 and iPad2. I can't log in my trading website that can stream live stock prices. This is a given in iOs4 and I am extremely disappointed and frustrated. Worst there is no revert back and we can only wait for new updates. Now I regretted to readily flashing to ios5 for both devices before double checking its stability issues.

I am having the same issue, though its way worse on youtube that safari for me.. the bar crawls and i mean CRAWLS and will stop and "buffer" about a hundred times, if you rewind, it starts stopping/buffering all over again, its practically useless now... I never had this problem on my iPhone 4 prior to the ios 5 upgrade. Prior to the upgrade, youtube was VERY fast, very reliable and I loved it. Any fixes, please post!!!
