no volume or control after ios 5 iphone ATT

The brush in the charger port worked! If you go into your music app and hit the 'airplay' button, you'll probably see that the iphone thinks it's hooked up to a 'dock', & that's handling the 'volume'. Once you clean the charger port,

the 'iphone' select button returns, & you're back in Bizz.

i have a brand new iphone, buyed today, and i havent any sounds! when the headphones are in everything is ok:/ im trying to fix it from 10 am please help!!

same with mine today dont know why also i had a timer on my camera before its gone also???? why????

i solved this by using alcohol swabs and a pin to clean both the main bottom connection and the headphone or output jack now very happy! good luck!

Just tried what you said worked awesome, my speaker started playing up a week ago to it to a market to get a new speaker paid £40 it worked ace for about an hour then packed up again i now dont think the bloke even changed it and just gave it a quick clean saying that my iphone wont recognise in itunes im hoping its all connected once agin thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!Ben

people i have same problem with my new 4s about 2 months and the solve for this problem is: use program IEXPLORER from internet and connect iphone then ,go to system , library and then "launch daemon" and delete com.apple.iapd.plist and problem are 100% solved after phone restart.tank'you and I hope I was helpful

I was having an intermittent sound issue and discovered it was related to Bluetooth. Whenever my phone was pairing with a Bluetooth device (handset or car) most of the sound was also being transferred to that device and I didn't realize it. Turning off Bluetooth instantly fixed the issue. Or you can increase the volume (select aux/USB source) and you'll hear the missing sounds!

Thank you. My iPhone 4S was "docked" for 2 months, sounds disabled. I've tried cleaning its connector without any success, was thinking that I should go for replacement. But today I've tried to clean connector with wet tootbrush. After several seconds of cleaning seemingly clean pins, the sound was misteriously restored. So there was some dust indeed.

It has bothing to do with the devices hardware or the iOS the device has. The problem is,there a little round metalish ring that falls out the top of the 4's. How u fix that is to take a tissue, and push it down it there and spin it. Apparently there's a ground in there and the connection just barely comes undone. Hope this helps everyone
