Repeat notification of missed calls, msgs etc. from lock screen?

I agree with you. I have just changed to an iPhone and I find it annoying that I have to turn my phone on to know about missed calls and txt msgs. Have had a mobile phone since 1988 and have always had this feature with them. May have to switch back to an old phone. Ramona

So here is the issue that I am having. I work for a medical facility and I am on call after hours. I had an EVO LTE and was just given an iPhone. If I should have my phone plugged in in my bedroom and I need to run outside for a moment and I miss a call, there is no audible reminder. As everyone seems to be posting, this is a common feature that is needed. Please either make this part of the IOS or let a developer create an app to do this.

There is no audible or visual reminder. If you missed a call, you just need to press the Home button or the Sleep/Wake button and (if you have Notifications enabled for the Phone app), you will see your missed call right there on the lock screen, along with other notifications that have come in.

If you do not wish to have to press a button to check for missed calls, I would switch to a different phone as this one will not meet your need.

Many people have requested an audible or visual reminder (flashing LED) since 2007, but Apple has decided to not implement that.

However, don't hold your breath. Apple doesn't listen to their users; they tell US what THEY allow us to have and think we need.

Another vote for enabling "Repeat Alerts" for missed calls and new voicemails. That option is available for unread iMessages, so it can't be that hard to change the software.

I agree with Todd. Missed phone calls are more important than missed text messages. And with the switch up in accessory plug ins for the 5, I'm in no hurry to switch phones.

In that case my next phone may not be an Apple... This is why "the customer is always right".

Any idea if there is a calendar or reminder app that offers this type of a reminder? Like others on this thread, my old "stupid" phone had a much more user friendly reminder feature on the calendar that would repeat a short alarm (or custom sound) every 15 min until it was dismissed. For someone like me who doesn't keep the phone in my pocket every minute of the day, that was an extremely helpful feature. It just seems like such an easy feature to add. I've looked for an app that would offer that and the closest I've come is calendar+ which allows me to set multiple reminders in the default settings. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

What you want is the standard default on most phones (not iPhones). iPhones do not have that capability by default nor setting. The work-around is to get a second phone (NOT an iphone), and forward all your calls to that second phone.

+1 to the insanity of being able to configure repeating alerts for messages but not for phone calls or voicemails which for most people are more urgent than texts...I couldn't even configure an actual pop up alert for missed calls despite those working for whatever random app so a VM beep is all you can get AFAICT.

I have an ip4 work in a noisey shop . before i had a andriod ph found and app called missed call reminder it could be set for whaterver you wanted. why cant you buy and app ? if anyone knows of an app that would be helpfull. from what i read they have that feature on the iph5 .does apple have complete control of all apps?

only for messages, not missed calls or voicemail… It seems like such a basic, and important feature, I cannot understand why there is no option for it. I do not walk around like a zombie with my eyes fixed on my phone, so if I miss a call or a voicemail, it goes unanswered until I am about to make a call.

I agree; how re-tarded a $600 phone does not have the basic features of a $40 flip phone.

I understand your frustration. Thankfully my iPhone was company issued, I did not buy it myself. I will never buy one for myself. From what I can tell, they do not like giving their users any kind of options to Taylor the phone to how they use it themselves. Apparently Apple thinks they know best and that's how it is. A repeat reminder tone would not drain the battery, it works just fine for text's and works just fine on my android phone. Why not give the option? If you don't want it then keep it disabled. Sounds simple. The lack of user changeable options is discouraging. I guess whoever designs the iOS doesn't want repeat alerts so why would anyone else? Very discouraging.
