Repeat notification of missed calls, msgs etc. from lock screen?

Is there any feature where you can have a lock screen notification for a missed call, email, msg etc. ? ios 5, Iphone 4s. At the very least set the phone to beep/vibrate/flash an icon at intervals etc. until the user checks the phone?

I realize in the settings there is a lock screen notification option, but when I turn that option on all that does is show a message that says I missed a txt message, then in a couple seconds it disapears from the lock screen. So if you aren't looking at the lock screen when it happens it's useless and you have no idea you have any missed calls/msgs/emails. What's the point of having a notification reminder if only happens once and you have to be looking at the phone when it occurs.

Is there really no option to have the iphone either beep/vibrate/msg repeatedly for missed calls, msgs, emails etc? (without jailbreaking it) That seems like a basic phone functionality for years now to alert users that they've missed calls, voicemails etc. when away from their phone or at least have the option to have the phone do it.

Neither of those things address the issue.

At best for messages only you can set the repeat to 10 times, at 2 minute intervals, meaning if you are away from your phone for more than 20 minutes, you get no notification after that time period.

Notification center doesn't help either, unless you constantly unlock the phone and access it to see if you missed something, that's pointless.

The request is simple, if I miss a call, msg, email I want the phone to beep, vibrate, or display something repeatedly.

I just joined this thread, too, but I have been an Apple iPhone user for five years. From what I can tell, this subject thread started in November, 2011, and still has no definitive answer. That is unfortunate. If there is still anyone out there interested, I too have the same concern as I need to leave my phone unattended for an hour or two at a time and then sometimes forget to manually check my lock screen. Then I get chastised for not returning calls and messages which is frustrating. I am going to research this mater further and report back if I find anything. I need to find an answer if one exists.

Unfortunately my Android died, and my boss gave me an iPhone. As others have said, I have to manually check my phone by (at least) turning on the screen. My Android LED would be visible provided it was on my desk, even if not in my direct sight. My boss is an Apple fan, and refuses to acknowledge such a major shortcoming of the device, while still chastising me for not responding to emails & calls quickly. I really dislike the lack of this feature, fix it Apple !

AGREE! We really need an audio missed call notification on my iphone 5s and on our iphone 6s. Does anyone know if Apple is planning to add this feature in the notifications in the near future.

I know people say it is a battery issue, but really if the old phone gave the notification and those batteries were not drained then why would the newer batteries have a problem with audio notifications for missed calls? Most people will silence the and/or check after one of two notifications. What is the real reason this is not avaialable NOW!

I wear my phone on my belt and do not have time to keep checking for notifications on the screen. I need an audio beep. The current notification system for missed calls is not sufficient. APPLE can we get this feature added to the next update?
