Hope you don't have a 3GS, the update puts the battery life at about 2 hours, I went from one day of life, then with iOS 5 it went down to 3/4 day, now with the latest update, 2 hours. It is worse than ever but I don't think apple will care because it is not a 4s phone. At this point I may be scared away from apple. I was planning on getting the 4s but I need my phone to last at least one day.. Hope they can fix this.

While I have not done any scientific research I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that my battery life is horrible. It is basically in free-fall. I unplugged it this morning after a full recharge overnight. In the 10 minutes it took me to read through my Twitter account the battery was down to 93%. I turned it off, had breakfast, turned it back on about 15 minutes later (remembering that it was not being used) and the battery was down to 86%. At this rate I should be ready to plug it back in before lunch...assuming I don't use it for anything crazy like making a phone call or reading email.

Yeah that's no good. Problem is not universal. I was at a poker game last night.

5 iPhones there all on ios 5 or 5.01.

The other people quite happy with their battery life.

My battery drained 3x as fast without use. And I have everything turned off:Siri, location, Bluetooth , stock and weather tickers...... Push only 2 emails accounts.

The other phones had a lot of features running.

Just turned off ping and as someone suggested and will see if that helps.

I don't think it's a widespread problem. Iphone 4 seemed to do better than 4s.

I was mercilessly made fun of.

I wish there was some real use battery drain examples.

With light use and some features activated how long should a charge really last????

Do not put the update on a iPad 2. I have had my iPad for only a couple of months, battery life is awesome. I put the update on it and I can watch the battery life go away. Really upsetting, now I have an iPhone with a 2 hour battery life and my iPad went from a week of use to one day, Steve Jobs unfortunate death may be the beginning of the end for apple. I hope not but it is looking bad at this point.

Same happened to me. iPhone 4 - had batteri issues before with ios 5.0 - so I was looking forward to the update. Updated yesterday wireless - sejr smooth but the batterytime is worse that before the update. Droppes from 32 to 27% while erotiks this... Apple dó something and do it Quick - but most important - do it good.
