After Effects clips are distorted in import

I've seen a few earlier threads on this, but they didn't seem to help me. My proeject settings are the same in both FCP and AFX, I am not using square pixels-- yet all clips I make in AFX and import are visibly squeezed.

Help!

Here's the full story:

My FCP sequence settings are:

Frame Size: 720x480 (NTSC DV 3:2)
Pixel Aspect Ratio: NTSC- CCIR601 / DV

My AFX settings are:
NTSC DV 720 x 480
Pixel Aspect Ratio: D1/DV NTSC (0.9)

When the AXF clip is imported into AFX it is stetched vertically, while the wdith appears to be correct. It is slight, and woulddn't even be thaat noticible if it weren't for the fact that I am working with CIRCLES!

Your circles had better look distorted in AE!

In AE turn on "Pixel Aspect Ratio Correction", only then should your circles appear as circles. If your circles are circles in AE in your 720x480 DV/D1 pixel comp and PAR Correction is OFF, then you're working wrong.

Are your circles created in Photoshop in 720x480 square pixel files? That'd be bad. Instead create the circles in 720x540 files, then drop those into your 720x480 DV/D1 comp.

Awesome! For the photoshop elements This has done the trick-- thank you very much.

Another element though was done in illustrator. How should I correct for EPS files since it doesn't place via document size, but just the art?

I wasn't using the correction preview and was manually correcting them-- so now wonder when the actual conversion happened it was still off.
