I bought a rocketfish miniDP to HDMI adapter and connected my macbook air 11" to my TV. I get both sound and picture on the TV, but the tv picture is mostly pink. I've played with the TV settings, and nothing will get rid of the tint. I also looked at the display settings on the mac (can't remember how I got there) for both the TV display and the mac display, and no setting change fixes it. Any ideas?

I have the same problem: other Macs connect fine to the HDMI TV, with the same Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. On 13" 2011 MacBook Air, plugging right into the Thunderbolt slot: display is clear but with pink/purple tint that I can't get rid of with display settings.
Any thoughts?
No, I haven't figured this out yet. I had a friend connect his PC to my TV through HDMI, and he found that at certain resolutions, he would get the pink tint too. The mac is set at the resolution that worked for him, but I tried every possible one on the mac, and none of them worked.
I've found that 720p or 1080 on the display resolution settings seems to work - sometimes just toggling one of those on and off seems to kick the pink hue out.
I had a similar issue with my Mac Mini connected to my HDTV. I found after the 10.7.4 update that it was pink, the Displays menu showed it as 1440x920 60hz NTSC. I toggled it to 1080i and it fixed the problem.
