Can't Disable Automatic Downloads - Prefs Always Reset!

Ever since automatic downloads became a feature in iTunes, I have to dismiss a couple of annoying dialogs *every* time I launch iTunes. I have unchecked all the various boxes in iTunes > Prefs > Store, but each and every time I do this, these boxes invariably become "rechecked", even during the same iTunes session.

What do I have to do to disable automatic downloads? Seems like the prefs would pretty much be the place to do it.

I set prefs like this:

User uploaded file

and the Automatic Downloads boxes always re-check themselves after a short time.

As a result, I always see this dialog when I launch iTunes:

User uploaded file

- usually twice in a row, not sure why...

Apple has checked that there are no devices set up for auto d/l's on my account. I really wish I could get this behavior to stop, it's pretty annoying, especially where there are prefs right there to let you customize it. Must be a bug I guess...

Thanks!

I think that I may have figured out the problem though it seems pretty obvious and I am not sure if it leaves people set up in iTunes the way that they prefer.
What seems to have worked was to open iTunes, switch to iTunes store and log out of your account in the upper right hand corner. You should see your apple ID there if you are logged in click on that (it is a pull down) and log out. I did follow that with the 'reset all warnings' proceedures above but I do not think that they are necessary.

If you can deal with logging in when you want to purchase anything this is probably a much more secure way to operate. I found that the problem also existed on other computers in the house where I was also logged in to the iTunes store through iTunes.

Still, seems a little obvious for apple support not to have sorted it out?
