Email search at iCloud.com does not work

No matter what I enter into the search field, iCloud Mail always returns "0 matching results" -- Is this a known issue that others are experiencing?

This is happening to me when I use web mail at iCloud.com. I am not sure if this occurs when using a desktop email client.

Thank you.

That the iCloud Mail search function still doesn't work after years of being broken is maddening. I'm going to gamble here and assume that this can only mean one of two things...

1) Apple can't fix it.

2) Apple doesn't care enough to fix it.

There is no reality in which Apple can't make a search function work so that only leaves reason number two.

Meanwhile Apple continues to stampede us onto iCloud.

I'm not a Gmail fan and I don't want to be a Gmail fan...so Apple, how about a little help here?

Hear Hear. If the answer is #2, that begs the question Why? Why do they not care? Not only is Search a disaster, in all the ways described since 2011 âš , but also VIP is only randomly functional. Sometimes the identified VIP's are there, sometimes not; sometimes the whole VIP section is blank; sometimes there is an indication that the VIPs are there -- but in fact nothing is there; sometimes VIPs work as expected.

Perhaps the answer is #3. Development has been essentially abandoned, out of embarrassment.

BTW, check out the editing options available in this support area messaging system, including the Advanced options. Why are these not available in iCM?

That was the first post on this thread. And even those posts said they have been dealing with this issue for years.

I like that my address says "@me.com" but it's hardly worth it if I can't do a simple email search.

I literally just had to find an email on my cell phone, read the date stamp, and scroll down to the actual day on my PC to download an attachment.

It doesn't "just work" and it's infuriating.

Gmail is still where it's at.

I always thought it was just my Mac aging or something like that. I find it frustrating too that when it starts looking it won't stop...there's no way to stop it and sometimes i have to come back in 15 minutes to an hour....I thought I just had too many e mails sitting not the server, but no. So now i see it's Apple who is not doing the right thing. Thanks to you and everyone else for making me realize i've been gaslighted (American term meaning to drive someone nuts because they think they are the ones who are experiencing or seeing certain things.)
