I'm trying to create a DVD using idvd from the edited version in FCPX. I created chapter markers and need those to transfer to idvd like it used to from iMovie. I did buy compressor because I thought that would help but I still can't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That was so fast! Thanks so much! Well, I thought I was creating chapter markers. I clicked m for marker than gave it a name. I guess that won't do it, huh? Well, I do need to create them and would like to use the iDVD themes but so need the chapters. I did buy compressor if I need to do it there. I have read how and tried it, but once there, how do I get that compressed video to iDVD?
You export media from FCP and take the exported file to Compressor. You add the chapter markers there. You then export again to the same high res format and that that file to iDVD for encoding and authoring.
So I "send it to compressor" from the FCP pull down? And then how do I export it from there to iDVD? I don't see how to do that. Right now it is compressing to a quick time and nearing completion. The comopression has been taking up to 4 hours and I don't know where they go. How does Share monitor fit into this? Thanks!
You could do that, but it's very slow. How you export depends on exactly what it is. The Share Monitor just keeps track of what's being encoded and the time it's taking. It's useful if you're doing batch conversions.
In you saying "you could do that" are you referring to my question about "sending it to compressor" or that I am exporting it to quick time? How will I take it from compressor to iDVD? I would try right now, but it's still compressing...

Yes.
When the file is exported you drag it into the iDVD interface. Have you used that application before?

I don't know what this means. When you're done you have an exported file, in whatever format you selected, wherever you designated to save it.
Alright - the chapter markers came through and it looks great - widescreen, but when I add it to iDVD (by dragging it over) it switches to 4:3. I've tried to change the encoding several times to make it normal to no avail.

If HDV is what you exported from Compressor it should work in iDVD. If it isn't you might want to ask on the iDVD forum.
Is there a setting I must set to keep it wide screen? I've tried "best performance" and it says it's to much content and must be changed in "Project Info" so I've done that - switched it to "Professional Quality" and it's still in 4:3. I tried to burn it anyway, thinking it might burn it correctly- it's still working on it. I have a feeling though, that I just wasted a disc.
