Wrong Time Zone after iOS5 Update

My iPad should be in Denmark but the time zone says shanghai. Difficult to be 6 hours in front

Try this folks, it works for me. Go to your ipad Settings>General>Reset>Reset Location Warnings.

Message pop up:

REset Warnings

This will reset your location

warning to factory defaults.

Hit the reset button

Then check your automatic time zone and map location. Hope this help

After i did it, i turned of the ipad for a few min. and then back on.

I tried this on my phone and it changes my location to a city in the province to the east of me now (previously had me in a city in the province to the west of me). While that city happens to share my time zone now, it won't the next time DST turns on/off. So, I'm still in the wrong place. I tried it again and did a hard restart on the phone as well which didn't change anything.

I didn't try it with my iPad yet as I've got a kid watching a movie on it right now. 😁

Sorry, no joy here. iPad location services still has me at the same spot in China. iPhone 4S does not exhibit the same problem while using the same wireless modem (Verizon air card on a Cradlepoint wireless modem).

I had never experienced the location issue until late evening December 7th. It has not been uncommon to have my location show up incorrectly based on somewhere I have been, but never from an unvisited location; i.e. China.

No luck either. This happened in my case after safari repeatedly crashed web page and i did reset on ipad. Maybe i had auto time turned off and it was turned on after. My location is showing as calgary, thousands of miles away from where I'm at. It was working yesterday.

That did the trick on my iPhone 4S. Weird thing about having the incorrect time-zone bug: At my hotel this morning, everything was fine, but tuning in at the airport's WiFi triggered the bug, setting my phone to my home time zone in Switzerland. The location was even somewhere in Germany! Could this have been triggered by going through x-ray machines at the security check? One would never know, I guess. Anyway, problem solved for today. Will see, what happens at my next destination.

Try doing a 'Reset network connections' but make sure you are on wifi

Happening with me too, I am in India and I get some location in Russia, that's after trying the reset solution. Before that I had had Algeria in africa. Even Reset network connection is not helping.

Also, I am using EDGE, so it's location service that's screwed, which also determines time settings when automatically chosen in settings.

Hi. I write from Italy and I have the same problem with my iphone4s. I live in sardinia but time zone is set to china or Bucharest. The strange thing is that it only happens with EDGE and not with 3G. I have tried all kinds of reset but it all begin again.

Anyway I've seen that doing the network reset and turning location services off the time zone is correct, but turning again location services on the time zone bug begins again

I'm in Australia but keep Jumping to France or Libya. I must have set a land speed record I reckon.

It rights itself after a bit, but fixing it is beside the point- how do we get Apple to stop it happening in the first place?

I keep oversleeping my alarm because my phone thinks it's still last night!

@Mr_jonathon - Putting time on manual would temporarily help. But yes question remains, "how do we get Apple to stop it"

Today things get better! In the morning I've had the usual time zone problem, then it's solved....but I ask myself: how long it'll last. I've phoned the apple and I've spoken with a technician of third and second level and after several attempts to solve this bug, they admit they can't explain why this happens. I've spent a lot of money to buy this iphone, apple must do something to stop this situation
