Windows 7 starts a new network every time I connect my iPhone

Hello. Since upgrading my iPhones to iOS 5, Windows 7 is having a very difficuly time recognizing which phone is which. As i use my iPhone for mobile internet with my laptop, this is causing Windows to create a new network every time I tether my phone. I am on my way towards 'Network 100' as we speak. Another glitch with WIndows & iOS 5 is that even though iTunes can recognize which of our 3 iPhones is connected, Windows Explorer seems to think the same phone is being connected over & over. (I noticed this when transfering photos from the phones to my hard drive.) Does Apple have a fix coming for this glitch?

I have the same problem, and it started after I installed iOS 5.0.1.

mine started with 5.0, and i havent upgraded to 5.0.1 yet. i see 5.1 is in beta so maybe will be fixed in that release?

Had another chat with Apple, they took a bunch of data and are working on it. I'm with you, I hope they clear it up soon.

Got the same problem.

Got Windows 7, and everything worked fine with my iPhone 4 on iOS 4.

But just bought an iPhone 4S with iOS 5 and now this started to happen.

Just wanted to let you know.

I can't seem to find such an update to uninstall, & it's driving me nuts - I'm currently on Network 248!

Can you tell me exactly what I need to uninstall to resolve this?

Worked for me on Vista x64 by changing the DefaultGatewayMac key to ac-de-48.

As I expected, this value simply behaves like a prefix.

I believe this problem has been fixed. I am using Win 7 (up-to-date) with an iphone 4 and iOS6. I no longer get a new network location when I connect using wi-fi.
