There seems to be some disconnect at Jabra regarding the status of the Journey and the iPhone 4S with Siri. Having previously been given the case number, I received an email from 'Nick' telling me that 'Gus' was mistaken and that the update in the works was for another product and not Journey. Hopefully the representive who last responded here knows otherwise. Both 'Nick' and my original responder 'Albert' suggested doing a 'factory reset', aka re-pairing - which as we all know doesn't work.
Here are the steps provided - which didn't change anything for me:
"Turn OFF the Jabra JOURNEY.
Delete or remove the Jabra JOURNEY from the Bluetooth Menu on your iPhone.
Turn OFF or disable the Bluetooth feature on your iPhone.
Turn ON the Jabra JOURNEY.
Press and hold the Answer/End button and the Volume down (the - sign) button at the same time until you hear the Jabra JOURNEY will beep three times and announce the pairing instructions after a few seconds, indicating the speaker has been reset and it will automatically get into pairing mode.
Once in pairing mode, your iPhone should be able to add the Jabra JOURNEY as a new device from within its Bluetooth menu (you will have to enable Bluetooth on your phone again and scan or search for devices). And remember that if your cell phone is asking for a pin code, it always has to be: 0000
To activate Voice Dialing/Siri you can tap (click) the Voice Button once, or press and hold the Answer/End Button for 1 or 2 seconds at the most until you hear a beep. "
Having gone through all that (repeatidly), Siri still screams at me.
'Nick' goes on to say that "Furthermore, please contact Apple for assistance, because as I said before, the tests we have done on our devices did not return any kind of issues with the Journey and iPhone 4S and Siri. There is no such fix being developed as there is no known issue."
(I guess the fact people here are reporting an issue doesn't count)
As I'm still in my 90 day return window, it's not a big deal - but is frustrating that the 'story' keeps changing.
