My iPhone 4s switched off and won't turn back on

I have this issue almost daily and have yet to figure it out.

I hold the power button and home button simultaneously for about 30 seconds until the Apple appears on the screen.

Try to set it up again without using any of the latest backups? How to set up your iPhone or iPod touch as a new device

Have the same issue ... Holding the Power & Home Button down together for about 30 sec... Mine is brand new too

Same here. Happens every day and I hold the power and home button together and it resers. I read the diagnostic logs but it's like undecipherable I guess its some apps crashes.

This shouldn't be happening!!!

I am also dealing with this. I got mine right out of the box, set it up, added all features, and then the screen went completely black. I plugged it in, tried all button combinations. Then I called Verizon Wireless and they couldn't help me get it back on. Ended up sending it back and my new 4S will be here on Tues or Wed. Really Apple? I hadn't even taken the plastic off! All I can say is call your service provider and ask for advice.

Same thing happened to me today. Phone was only 72 hours old. Apple is FEDEXing me a new one tomorrow. Should be here on Wednesday. My service is through AT&T. They were not help at all and just told me to call Apple. Been an AT&T customer for over 7 years. I was not happy with the response they gave me. Also not real pleased that my brand new phone already crapped out after 72 hours.

Oh snap, that helped...but why did that happen? Why did my phone just go dark and frozen? It too is new, less than 5 days old.

Wow yours lasted 3 days? Mine lasted about...20 minutes. LOL Apple fail. Verizon wasn't much of a help either. I'm still upset that I had to wait more time for another phone. Hopefully, our new ones will work. Jeesh. I have been a dedicated Verizon Wireless customer for 11 years. Not happy.
