Harmony remote is messed up after wake on sleep in OSX Lion?

With the latest OSX Lion (10.7.2) has anyone noticed problems controlling their Mac using a remote after it wakes from sleep? Navigating up and down on the remote attempts to adjust the volume. The OK button (to confirm a selection) activates iTunes. This is really annoying when I am using media software like XBMC. The only work around I have found so far is to do the following:

1. Shutdown the media software (XBMC).

2. Pair the Mac Mini (Late 2009) with an Apple remote.

3. Immediately unpair the remote.

4. Run the media software again.

To avoid having to do this all the time, I have configured the computer to not go to sleep or to put the display to sleep. This isn't ideal because it will be using power unnecessarily and will shorten the life of the machine.

Hmmmm... the Mac Mini ignores the settings that should stop it from going to sleep or putting the display to sleep. I also tried installing and running Caffeine in the background all the time with no luck. I am still forced to use the work around above *everytime* the Mac Mini wakes from sleep. I am really starting to dislike OSX Lion and am considering going back to Snow Leopard. Everything was working perfectly with SL. Any ideas?

I found a setting in XBMC that was putting the machine to sleep after 60 minutes of inactivity. That should make the work around described in my first post valid so that the remote doesn't get messed up since the system will never wake from sleep.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to stop iTunes from taking over the remote after the system wakes up? iTunes is not paired with a remote and I haven't found any other iTunes or system settings that would affect this behavior.

I have the exact same problem. I've tried everything. I'm resigned to waiting for a fix from either Apple, Candelair or XBMC.

One point I will add is that its not necessary for me to pair and unpair an apple remote. Just UNLOCKING the security and privacy options is enuf to stop the harmony remote from controlling the mini and go back to controlling xbmc only. Exasperating.

Same issue for me. It's very annoying.

Unlocking and relocking the "security and privacy" options make it work until the next wakup event.
