why does my iMac keep freezing?

This is a problem I've been having for some time, I have actually posted in the Intel iMac forum but I think the inclusion of Vectorworks has put people off.


Essentially my 24" iMac periodically freezes. I have looked in the crash log but it's not actually crashing as such so there is not always an entry there for a date relating to the freeze.


Is there a specific log for freezing or hanging up?

Mac OS X (10.5.8), Imac 24" 2.16GHz 3GB SDRAM, 2TB Time Capsule, 500GB LaCie Rikkik

Hello,


Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.


First, Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, test if things work OK in Safe Mode.
