My ical events showing up as "new events" on my ipad and iphone when synced with exchange?

I am running exchange 2010 and have my macbook, iPad and iPhone syncing to exchange. I noticed that lately after my lion upgrade it is changing the ical meeting events that I create on my macbook show up on my iPad and iPhone as "new events". All of the information entered into the event is gone. This is really frustrating and is starting to become a problem. I need to find a solution soon. Has anyone else experienced this issue or resolved this issue?

+1 here also.

iCal 5.01

OSX Lion 10.7.2

Exchange 2010

The behaviour i see is that as I'm actually creating the event in iCal the title of the window changes to "iCal - Updating..." which implies that it's sending the brand new event to exchange, which at that moment in time IS "new event" however I don't think that should happen until after the update is made and I hit done.

I'm now getting paranoid and wasting time entering an event in iCal, letting it Sync, going to my iPhone making sure it appears correctly, and then fixing it if comes back as "new event" anywhere.

Dumb, painful, amature and making us all look bad. I switched away from outlook for this!?!??

Count me as one impacted as well - events entered on one of my Macs will revert to New Event. I use iCal with Exchange 2010 on both a MBP and a Mini with Lion 10.7.2. first thought I was just imaginging it. At least it is not just me. But it is serious issue. I have tried all suggestions to no avail. It also happens just randomly enough that I can't re-produce it to determine how to avoid it. As of this morning I am going to have to fire up Mac Outlook until it is solved. Even thought I dislike Outlook, I can't keep going like this!

This is exactly what is happening to me. It syncs too early, thereby holding the new event title and not what I type after.

I use multiple calendars on my ical. Because of the early sync, the default calendar that first populates holds just like the title, even if I change it. But in this case, I get TWO New Events - one in each calendar.

Having to go back and delete these every time I make a new event is beyond frustrating. But having the delete not hold tops the cake. I'll delete the event or correct the event, and seconds later, or minutes later, depending on the mac's mood - it's back. I've deleted the same wrong calendar New Event tens of times. ARGH.

Fix this! I moved from my PC to avoid these issues!

I am not using Rackspace (my exchange server is in my company's data center) and I am experiencing this issue.

I wish I had been more diligent about noting this issue when it started happening.

It looks like this might be 10.7.2 related. I don't have a ton of evidence to support that, other than seeing my 10.7.2 update happened on Oct 12, 2011 which is about 2 months go. My update before that was Sept. 9, 2011 and it was a security update.

I'm not using Rackspace either, so I don't think that's where the problem lies. Looking back, I think my problem started with the update to 10.7.2 (updated Oct 17th 2011 for me). I don't recall the problem before that update.

Don't know if this could be related to an Exchange 2010 update? I will check with our system administrator to see if there were coincident updates to Exchange.

So it seems like a very conistent problem. I'm not on Rackspace either, so that doesn't seem related.

I am ALSO experiencing a similar problem with the Address Book, and I'm curious if you all have seen this as well - as much as it isn't as obvious as a failed calendar event entry.

Basically, if I enter a new Address Book entry in Lion, it will not propagate to the iOS Address Books. If I initiate from iOS everything works fine. This is really odd, but seems to stem from the same issue. And I can only imagine how many entries i've made from Lion that now for some reason won't show up on the phone. Even deleting the address book on the iOS device and re-adding it doesn't work.

To test this further, I added a person via iOS, and then the same person via Lion, and then tried to merge the two entries in Lion, but received the error. "The cards could not be merged because they came from different accounts." Huh?

I hope Apple gets this resolved soon, because this is really erroding the reliability of these products for any business application using Exchange.

Very Very interesting..... Based on your comment this makes me think it might be related to the new @me.com account created with iCloud.

Hear me out:

I recently tried to use AirDrop between my MacBook Pro and my wife's MacBook Air and it wouldn't work. I immediately received the "user declined your request" without any action on the other machine at all. so I researched it and found that it's because of the @me.com account that was created when I signed up for iCloud and put in System Preferences -> Users & Groups.

At first I tried a work around to this and got the error message: "The Apple ID certificate for "XXX" is invalid. The transfer has been cancelled"

Once I deleted the @ me account airdrop worked exactly as designed.

Seeing openkimono's post above makes me think the account issue might be related... yes/no?

Obviously I created this account with iCloud after the 10.7.2 upgrade...

I just did this 2 days ago so I'm going to watch what happens with my meeting setup.
