Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

My ical events showing up as "new events" on my ipad and iphone when synced with exchange?

I am running exchange 2010 and have my macbook, iPad and iPhone syncing to exchange. I noticed that lately after my lion upgrade it is changing the ical meeting events that I create on my macbook show up on my iPad and iPhone as "new events". All of the information entered into the event is gone. This is really frustrating and is starting to become a problem. I need to find a solution soon. Has anyone else experienced this issue or resolved this issue?

This issue has most definitely NOT been resolved.

I'm on OS X 10.7.3/iCal 5.0.2 (1571) and still having this problem. I don't use exchange, never used MobileMe. I have a MacBook, iPad, and iPhone, all tied together with iCloud. That's it, all Apple, nothing fancy. I entered about a dozen appoinments yesterday on my MacBook while offline and once I got home and connected to the net, everything I had done reverted to "New Event" across all three devices.

It's self explanatory really. I'm using an apple product. There products seem to be error prone, both software and hardware - if it's not apple who should take responsibility mate you could tell me what is going wrong here!

How do you know the product is error-prone? Maybe the user is error-prone. Just sayin'.

I am still having the problem. My solution was to use the "Create Quick Event" tool to create all my events, and then the problem doesn't happen.

In iCal, on the top left of the window, there's a "Calendars" button and just to the right of it is an unlabeled button with a "+" (plus sign). Click the plus sign button to create a quick event, which for some unknown reason correctly synchronizes with the server.

Hi everybody. I know this is an old thread, but I recently switched to new hardware, and to 10.9.x with iCal 7.0. I don't sync with Exchange but instead with an CalendarServer which is running on my machine in order to sync the calendar within the familiy. (I want to avoid iCloud...)

Either the issue was solved and returned again or it was never really solved at all. From what I observed by watching the log output from CalendarServer I can confirm what unifex007 wrote on page 4.

However I also observed something else: I could consistently reproduce the problem with the "Editing events in seperate window" on the "Extended" prefs turned off. Once I turned "Editing events in seperate window"on, iCal popups up a separate window which allows editing. It still sends a PUT to the CalendarServer but when the editing is done, it will not be reverted but again be PUT correctly to the CalendarServer

Open iCal on a Mac (not on an iPad / iPhone), open the Prefs and switch to "Extended" (in German it's "Erweitert") which should be the third option with the gear-wheel. On my 10.9.1 with iCal 7.0 there is an option "Ereignisse in separatem Fenster öffen" which translates into "Open events in separate window" or "Edit events in separate window"
