What was the release version, David?
5.0.1, or do you mean the build version, Kappy?
Hi Kappy! 🙂
My iPad 2 says 5.0.1 (9A405)
Thanks. Now I have to restore 4.x.x in order to re-install the update. I have the beta on mine which was A404. 😢
5.0.1 (9A405). I just installed it over the air. That was pretty cool. Now if I can get the hang of multi touch features and Safari behaves, I will be a happy camper!

What else is gained by that update? Anything?

Downloading now while I listen to music over BT. Pretty cool.

This update contains improvements and other bug fixes including:
Probably the biggest thing is the bug fix for the iPhone batteries.
This update contains improvements and other bug fixes including:
- Fixes bugs affecting battery life
- Adds Multitasking Gestures for original iPad
- Resolves bugs with Documents in the Cloud
- Improves voice recognition for Australian users using dictation
The update hasnt improved my 4s' battery. Down 14% within a few minutes.
I downloaded and installed without plugging into a power source and while sharing my iMac's Internet connection. It went quite quickly. The download was 39.2MB showing in the software update in the settings.
The update for my 4S was 55MB. Did you have to restore you backup after the OTA update or was you data and library maintained?
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
Good to do after any update.
