Where are iPhone backups stored?

I keep trying to back up my iPhone, but iTunes says my back up is corrupt and I need to delete the old one. I have googled the file path for iPhone back ups, and everyone says Mac HD>Users>USERNAME>Library>Application Support>MobileSync>Backups

All well and good, except I get to my username and I don't have a library folder. -.-

Tried that, found the MobileSync file, but nothing in there is usable/viewable except pictures. How do I actually view the content, as in, how do I see a replica of my calendar, contacts, etc.?

You don't.

There are apps which will access the files and allow you to export it.

I had the same problem. It was an easy fix. Open ITunes, in the upper left select ITunes, then Preferences, next select the Devices tab. You will see your backups in the Device backups window. Select the backup in question and then Delete Backup. Now, you can go back to ITunes and backup the IPhone.

Thanks, it works.

Also, I find the iPhone backup extractor software can find the iTunes backups easily, it’s useful if I want to extract some data from my previous backup.
