iOS 5.0.1 problems - Searching for Network and battery life still isnt great.

So I dont know if anyone else is having this problem but I upgrade to iOS 5.1 today and it seems to me that my network is being dropped A LOT today. I know it probably doesnt help that I'm on T-Mobile with a factory unlocked iPhone 4 but it seems that before I upgraded, I was able to keep my network for a longer amount of time. Also, I think iOS 5.1 actually made the battery life worse. Im down to 40% and thats without any calls, a few texts and very little wifi surfing.

I think they rushed this due to the knew 4s... I have a 4, upgraded to 5.0 with no problems. I did the update to 5.0.1 due to my battery going quicker than before and lost everything on my iphone, I am glad that I had it backed up on iTunes but this has never happend before while doing an update, even when I started with the iPhone 3!

I've just done an OTA update to 5.0.1 on my iPhone 4 and now get a "No SIM" notification. I have never had an issue with finding the network (Optus - Australia) in the past but now when I turn on my phone, it says "Searching..." for a long time, then finally displays the "No SIM" notification.

This is a huge problem, I'm expecting a couple of important calls today and my phone can't connect to the network.

Same problem here!! I can't seem to make any calls, then the network drops to "no service" and reconnects after a few seconds. After that I can make calls just fine, but the same occurs all over again after leaving the phone idle for a while....meaning that no calls get through even if the iPhone's status indicates that it's connected to the cellular network.

This makes my iPhone 4S pretty much useless as a phone! :-O I'm connected through Telenor in Norway btw.

Thanks, but unfortunately removing and reinserting the SIM doesn't help. It has to be a software issue because I have never had a network issue before and since doing the update about an hour ago it hasn't been able to get a connection once (despite 10-20 restarts).

i just updated my ipad 2... now its in loop mode, needs to be restored, but doesnt restore.(error '2003')

had the same drama with iphone when i went to ios 5. this is getting ridiculous, it reminds me of windows vista....

i think it may be time to give apple a miss, android might not work as well , but it does work!

Ok i thought i would join in because ive been having this problem for over 3 weeks, and it has now basicaly rendered my phone completely useless.

Same issue like everyone else, get signal for a few days, then constant searching... no signal problems. Where a restart would only help the problem for a short time. Then after 3 days only a restore through itunes would help for a bit. Now doing a resore or anything doesnt help. Now seeing that apple was working on a update gave me new hope that they were actualy listening. Well i just did the update and i did absoluetly nothing to eleviate the problem. I am really getting ****** off at apple. To me, or any sane person, fixing a signal problem sounds much more important then solving a battery life issue, one leaves the phone completely un useable, where the other you can still use the phone. Plus i love how apple pervents you from going back to a older version of firmware that worked "perfectly fine". I had a feeling that i was going to have a problem with the iOS5, i should of never upgraded my phone, the only reason i did was to try out the iMessage feature.

My friends find it amusing when they have 5 bars on their iphone, and mine says "No Service."

Now im really starting to get ticked off because my warranty is going to be out in about 3 weeks, and if i keep on waiting on apple to potentialy release a fix, i could be left with a fancy looking paper weight!😠

I guess i have to drive 3 hours to the closest apple store to get them to replace my phone, after a bunch of arguing i predict.

We cant talk about going back to ios 4 or they will remove this thread, and our problems will be flushed down the apple toilet forever

There were 2 other great threads that had over 50 pgs, of people having this exact problem, someone talked about "it", and poof.. gone.
