iOS 5.0.1 problems - Searching for Network and battery life still isnt great.

So I dont know if anyone else is having this problem but I upgrade to iOS 5.1 today and it seems to me that my network is being dropped A LOT today. I know it probably doesnt help that I'm on T-Mobile with a factory unlocked iPhone 4 but it seems that before I upgraded, I was able to keep my network for a longer amount of time. Also, I think iOS 5.1 actually made the battery life worse. Im down to 40% and thats without any calls, a few texts and very little wifi surfing.

Reply if your having the same problem lol

After making more space on my boot drive which contains the system, I finally sucessfully installed iOS 5.0, but reading this bulitin boad there seems a lots of problems installing either 5.1 or 5.01.

Has anyone managed to actually sucessfully install these new iOS's without loss of performance, losing files, network and reception problems? Don't want to install either new iOS until I know it is relatively safe!

Yeah Im in the same boat. Just last night, I think my service was dropped at least a dozen times within an hour. Sometimes, it will drop for only a few seconds. Other times, it will be dropped for a few minutes. Its actually quite irritating because before updating to iOS 5.1, my network never dropped out and I am in excellent range of T-Mobile's service so Im blaming this one on Apple. As far as the battery issue goes, Im still waiting to see if my battery life has improved or not. I purposely drained the battery last night down to 2%, gave it a full charge over night, took it off the charger this morning at 5:30. Here it is, a little after 8am and its holding steady at 87% but I also havent called anyone, surfed all that much or texted anyone and I made sure to turn off any non-essential location service stuff just to save a few drops of juice.

But this dropped network issue is really irritating, annoying and unacceptable. I didnt pay $700 for my phone to get service only half the time because of a software issue that shouldnt have been affected in the first place!

Exact issue I posted before.

Iphone 4s 32 GB (black)

Issues/Steps Taken:

1) NO SERVICE

2) Service No network

for the above checked with coworker running iOs5 side by side and they had service (not a network issue)

3) Reset Network - worked for a few minutes then noticed NO SERVICE again

4) Performed a Hard Reset (Home Button & Power On/Off) - worked for a while then NO SERVICE again

5) Under Carrier switched from both Automatic from On to Off, received service then a short time later NO SERVICE. Switched it back on.

6) Powered Phone On & Off several times

I can't check my phone every few minutes but within the last hour and a half I would say it lost service once since doing all the above.

We should all post in clear concise actions what steps we have done and results. This may be able to assist Apple in rectifying our issues. I'm frustrated (and concerned about this. I have a family emergency that may require a call to me at any time) but to continually complain will get me nowhere and I NEED a working phone.

Apple if you're listening please contact me and I will test/install, report anything required of me to have this issues rectified.

I am convinced that the OS upgrade has actually worsened the battery situation. After upgrading OS at 73% charge, I switched on the DREADED Location Services -reputed to be the monster that eats battery life- for 15 mins, then saw the fast drain and switched it off. The draining of battery continues unabated. I went out for lunch for 30 mins and started the bluetooth for taking a call in my car - BIG MISTAKE !

Cmon Apple - 5S was better.
