iOS 5.0.1 problems - Searching for Network and battery life still isnt great.

So I dont know if anyone else is having this problem but I upgrade to iOS 5.1 today and it seems to me that my network is being dropped A LOT today. I know it probably doesnt help that I'm on T-Mobile with a factory unlocked iPhone 4 but it seems that before I upgraded, I was able to keep my network for a longer amount of time. Also, I think iOS 5.1 actually made the battery life worse. Im down to 40% and thats without any calls, a few texts and very little wifi surfing.

Reply if your having the same problem lol

I have upgraded to iOS 5.1 and the battery life has not improved at all. I'm down to 66% and haven't used the phone all day. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but it says 17 stand by hours since my last full charge. It's only been 3 hours. Hopefully the problem will be fixed soon. Hate having to budget my time using the phone. I have no issues with network or dropped calls.

You are totally right...
Same problem here with my iphone4s in Lebanon. After updating to ios5.0.1 the network is almost always down...when i want to make any call/ sens an sms i should restart my phone to search again for the network !

I definitely prefer to go back to battery issues than to struggle with lost signal & BATTERY ISSUES.
Really disappointed from Apple.
Waiting for the next software update as soon as possible.

Same problem in Chicago.

I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.0.1 over-the-air via WiFi this morning (11/12/2011 at 6:00 AM CT) and now my phone is "searching" for a cellular signal, "No Service", "cannot connect to cellular data network" for seconds at a time and the upgrade has not improved my battery life. I'm very frustrated. Apple! We need a fix or an easy way to downgrade to iOS 5.0. I did not see these bugs before upgrading to 5.0.1.

Help!

Cupertino, we have a problem ... It is not so much the battery that is strikingly weak, it is not so much Siri having problems to understand English or German and to respond properly, all this can probably wait a week or two. Apple it is, that I cannot make phonecalls with my iPhone 4S at all, since I updated its software to iOS 5.0.1 yesterday night. This is kind of a drawback of my 849 Euro device. Please, Apple, would you mind taking care of this problem.

Dear Apple!

I'm from Russia. Yesterday I updated my iPhone 4 via wifi up to 5.0.1. As a result I have "Invalid SIM" message. I have official iPhone 4 and Beeline operator.SIM card is bought in febrary, 2011. So its not because bad sim card. Everything work before 5.0.1!

I tried to restore my iPhone. So, now I have official iBrick. I cannot activate my iPhone because "Invalid SIM" message. I cann't play games, listen music, make calls. I cant use my iPhone even like watch!

Apple must accept downgrade to 5.0.0!

The same in China. Actually i have been cut off from my mobile world for two days since i updated 4s to 5.0.1

I have to say I am very very angry and surprised that I would never imagine the Apple company literally let this happen -- fail to search signals, fail to make/receive calls, not to mention text messages.

It is a mobile phone , but the basic part of which has gone insane !! I don't want to spend 799AUD just to get an iTouch 4s !!!!

I highly demand that Apple should give us a satisfaction within 2 days. I have no energy to deal with the battery problem so far, I just want to maintain my normal need for a mobile. Isn't it an easy job???

Welcome to all fellows. feel free to contact me and let's push Apple a little bit in order to settle down this .

Hi guys, i've been trying anything to make my 4s network back to work again. lately i changed my sim card provider from thre* to T**l and the network problem complitely gone !!... i dont know about battery life but at least the network and internet have gone back to work again. I changed it yesterday, and until now there is no problem with my connection anymore. i can send text, call and internet connection has been stabilized since. maybe you should try changing the sim card provider ( if not engaged in contract, mine is IOS 5.0.1 FU).

T**l sells bundled iphone but my previous provider doesnt. So may be the problem is the compatibility of local network with iphone 4s and IOS 5.0.1. may be we should ask wether iphone user from USA with sprint or verizon also suffer from network problem.

Same situation in Vietnam (4S purchased unlocked direct from Apple Australia) ... have tried two different SIM cards, have tried resetting network, etc.

It looks a lot like the battery life issue follows directly from the incredible problems this phone is having trying to stay connected. Have tried various suggestions above, but no joy.

Phone usually joins network after being switched on, but after a while it drops the cellular network connection and goes to "Searching.." and then usually to "No Service". 3GS and Nokia phones sitting on the desk beside the 4S seem to be having no trouble staying connected with excellent reception.

I'm about to remove the SIM so that the phone at least doesn't run down the battery trying to search for networks.

This is a pretty bad situation. I'm pretty technically savvy and pro-Apple and I can only imagine how some other people are feeling at this stage.

(Dear Apple folk ... I'm happy to help you find the problem if need be, because until this is fixed I can't use the phone!)

Oh ... and I forgot to add:

No incoming calls or outgoing calls or cellular data almost all the time.

Oh ... and the occasional:

"SIM failure"

Not fun, Apple. Not fun.
