iOS 5.0.1 - Made my iPhone 4S battery performance worse!

I upgraded my iphone 4S to the 5.0.1 release today. However, I've noticed that my battery life has actually gotten worse since I upgrade. For example, I've been home for approximately 30 minutes and my battery has gone down in 8%. In the 30 minutes, I had a 30 second phone call and sent 3 text messages. I am connected to our wi-fi (which is a strong connection) and I have re-started my phone.

Please let me know if anyone else is having any issues!?!!?

Apple - Can you please fix the iphone 4s battery issues? I might as well go get a 4g android phone if the battery life remains this poor.

Mine went down 10% in one hour after I upgraded today. Then 4% less in 27 minutes. This is without using it at all. I closed all the apps, and only have the Wi Fi on (3G is off).

I noticed every time I pressed the power button to check on the clock, it lost 1%. I've pressed it a couple more time in the past half hour to see if it happened again, and it did.

PLEASE fix this, Apple! This is my first iPhone and the battery issue is getting on my nerves. I knew the battery would run out faster than my old phone, but not at this rate.

OK. it seems i made some progress with the 4S. Before the 5.0.1 fix, i burned down my battery from 100 to 40% in about 8 hours just hanging in my holster answereing an occasional call, sending an occasional txt or email. After the so called fix, it got worse and in 6 hours rather than 8 hours in my holster, it burned nearly 58% so for me the fix did not work.

I decided to try one more thing before i headed to the Apple store. This time i let the battery burn down to zero and shut itself down. Goal was to have as near to a 100% drain as i could get and then do a full recharge. Having done that, my phone has been hanging in my holster for nearly 6 hours and i am at 93% battery power. so, the full battery drain and full recharge seemes to have done something.

I recommend everyone try this before heading back to Apple. Make sure you drain battery so there is no power to turn it on, then plug it in and leave it alon for several hours until it is back to 100% and test it out and keep track of time as battery burns down.

Good luck.

Totally unacceptable Apple. After waitng over 2 weeks for tis phone, I activated it on Wednesday and didn't really notice any battery issues with it. I was upgrading from a 3S and the battery on that was kind of weak after 2 years and this was definitely an improvement. On Friday, I get a notification that there is an update available to improve the battery.I thought this ought to be really good since i don't perceive my phone to really have an issue. I upgraded to 5.0.1. Hardly used it at all on Friday and it had a 100% charge on it in the morning. Went to send a text last night about 8 PM and the phone was completely dead. Recharged it with BatteryDoctor overnight to 100% and notice this morning that within an hour it was down to 88%, even though I had not used it at all. Did a reset and recharged it to 100% and again it went down to 90% within an hour even though it is not even being used. I have now turned everything off including the network connection and it seems to be holding at 74%. I need this phone for work and Apple needs to fix this problem or I will have to return it and get somethng else. I don't know how they think they can send out software like this that everyone is going to upgrade to and not even fully test it.

OK, completely erased all content and reset my iphone. Then I retrieved all my settings etc from iCloud and then I connected my iphone to my computer and resynched everything in iTunes. I did all of that last night. I then completely recharged the battery overnight. Today, it has been working fine.It is now 9 PM and the battery is at 52%, usage is at 3 hours 16 minutes and standby is at 13 hours, 52 minutes. If you are having trouble since upgrading to 5.0.1 with your battery, give this a try.
