Motorola SLVR (L7): unable to read/write to disk

I'm running the newest version of itunes and using the new slvr to play my music, but it's not working. everytime i try to load music onto the card i get an error, "iTunes unable to read/write to disk". i checked to make sure i have the latest version of the software and also formatted the disk serval times. it's still giving me the same message.

This does not fix the problem... I have had the same thing happening and I went out to return mine for a new one. I tested it on the laptop the guy had at the cingular store and it worked like a charm. I bring it home only to find out it doesn't work on my computer... If you have two computers in the house I suggest trying another one and just sharing your music folder...

I kept getting the same thing with mind. I found that I have to VERY SLOWLY.
open itunes. plug in phone. drag and drop just one song at a time. If I try a whole cd or a playlist I get that messgage.
One at a time and do not drop antother until it says ready to disconnect. then drag your next.
I think it is nuts that it takes so much work to do this. I do not think they should have released this stuff yet if it is this tough. good luck

I spoke w/ Motorola support for itunes at 800-657-5778. They reformatted my transflash thing and then did a master reset...still NO SUCCESS!! They said the only thing left to do is to trade it back in for another slvr and see if that works!!! Weird though, b/c I could download 14 songs at first and then the unable to read/write msg. Now, I can't even drag-n-drop any of the original 14 songs!!!!

So, after talking with motorola (see above) their solution was to exchange my phone for a new one. So, I decided to use a different computer. When I used a newer laptop, it worked like a charm!! (see apple support for backing-up your music and do the same thing to transfer your wanted playlists) Maybe it won't work well with older Dell laptops (like mine - yr 2000).

I had the same problem with my SLVR and I was really upset because i got the cell phone mainly because it had MP3 on it. I still could not get my computer to accept the memory card through my cell phone, so i bought a SanDisk TransFlash Adapter as well as a memory card reader that plugs into my USB port. I am now able to put songs, ringtones, and graphics onto my memory card and then into my phone. Itunes on my phone still doesnt work! But I can still hear the songs by going to My Stuff> Sounds> Option Button> Switch Storage Device> Memory Card. I hope i helped!
