Battery life/iOS 5.0.1

Am I the only person who downloaded 5.0.1 and received a brand new timer in the upper right hand corner of my device? It went down two percent just while typing this.

I updated it to 5.0.1 last night, and this morning had a test after 100% battery charged. But what I saw was the battery problem wasn't solved, and it was even worse. I was on Safari and Settings for 20 mins, battery drops 14%. This was worse than 5.0 when I was using Battery Doctor Pro supporting my 4s. I haven't used restoring after the update, but I will try to see if it will solve the problem. But at the moment, 5.0.1 is so disappointing.

Same here guys....

Updated yesterday, re-booted my phone and finished up the day. I fully charged it over night and started to use it this morning. Made a few phone calls and received around 15 emails, battery dropped 10% in the first hour. Then, I did not use the phone and it dropped 15% in the next 60 minutes. So after 3 hours (2 hours standby and 1 hour of usage) I lost 30% battery.

I have no skype app running, have my email on push (as they should be and were on my iPhone 4) and have notifications turned on for the apps that I need. i also have setting time zone turned on because I travel and I do not want to change this manually every time. That's what it's for, right?

So in my opinion the update did not really help me and I already got 2 replacement phones from Apple since I bought the 4S.

This really needs to be addressed.

Fix that worked for us...We had several phones that experienced rapid drain following update... and the solution was to DELETE the mail profile and rebuild it. We had this exact same issue occur with a release of IOS4 and Iphone4s last year.... which is what lead us to try the fix again. It may not be the magic bullet for everyone but we are batting 1000 here.
