Battery life/iOS 5.0.1

Am I the only person who downloaded 5.0.1 and received a brand new timer in the upper right hand corner of my device? It went down two percent just while typing this.

I'm seeing the same thing on my iPhone 4. It's tough to say whether 5.0.1 made my battery life worse, but it certainly didn't make it any better. I'd be interested in knowing which battery-related issues were in fact fixed in 5.0.1, as noted in the Apple change log. Currently I'm having to charge my iPhone at work during the day so it makes it through a full day - never had to do this with iOS 4.x on the same hardware. Intraday recharging isn't horribly inconvenient when I'm at work or at home, but it's bad when traveling.

Same problem here. Update my 4 to 5.0.1 and it is draining my battery as ****.

I didn't had any battery issue with IOs 5 (max 15% a DAY !!!) and now 20% in 4 hours.

I've tried everything, location is off, reporting is off, time auto adjustment is off, re-installed my mail, reset the network settings....

I hope we have a fix really soon :-/

Battery life was never great in 4.3, but at least I could make it through the day. 5.0 dropped the life to about 12-14 hours. When 5.01 came out i said YEAH! I up'ed to 5.01 last night and connrcted it to charge over night. unplugged this morning at about 8:30 AM and the phone shut down about 5 PM. Only 2 calls total phone time about 15 minutes.

I hope they fix this quick!!

I didn't have a battery problem. After 5.0.1 my battery lasts even longer. Phone now goes over night with no charger and still says 100% in the morning. Have you guys looked at your iCloud settings, WiFi, and Bluetooth. Your phone could be syncing with the cloud. I turned everything on the cloud off except find my iphone. I would rather just sync using usb. It is faster and I only need it once every week or so.

There is another wide-spread problem (at least in the Czech Republic) with 5.0.1: the iPhone 4S becomes unusable after the update if you use T-Mobile. "Unknown SIM" problems occurs several times an hour, or you have "full signal" but not reachable, you have to try 5-10 times to make a call, which means the iPhone is a priceless brick and there is nothing what you can do about it. 😟
