Battery life/iOS 5.0.1
Am I the only person who downloaded 5.0.1 and received a brand new timer in the upper right hand corner of my device? It went down two percent just while typing this.
iPhone 4, Windows XP

It says windows XP, but I'm using Snow Leopard.
I just updated my iPhone 4s to iOS 5.0.1. And my battery life is worse. I cant believe this. This is ridiculous. Come on apple why can't you get this right.
Hideous! This update did nothing! Back to the drawing boards Apple, this is not acceptable! I am still going to have to carry a USB cable and adapter around with me! RIDICULOUS! Did you not TEST this firmware update?
Same here i updated it thinking that it was going to help with the battery life and it is worse than it was before!!!!!!
It is worse than before + SIM is considered "not SIM" and I cannot even call with the phone. It drops the signal when trying 1 of 3 calls!!
I updated it to 5.0.1 last night, and this morning had a test after 100% battery charged. But what I saw was the battery problem wasn't solved, and it was even worse. I was on Safari and Settings for 20 mins, battery drops 14%. This was worse than 5.0 when I was using Battery Doctor Pro supporting my 4s. I haven't used restoring after the update, but I will try to see if it will solve the problem. But at the moment, 5.0.1 is so disappointing.
I updated to 5.0.1 last night.
On 5.0, I could get 14hrs standby, 7-8 hrs use.
Today, I got 7hrs standby, 3 hrs use and its dead.
going on twitter with 3G for 5 mins took the battery from 4% down to dead.
I wish I didnt update.
iOS 5.01 = FAIL
Looking forward to iOS 5.02.
It was really bad before but after upgrading, it made it worse. They need to fix this ASAP
Same for me.
iPhone4S:
iOS5.0 8-10% drain per hour, iOS 5.0.1 10% per hour.
Apple a solution please!!
no benefit with the new 4S, when i can not use it
I had acceptable battery life in iOS 5.0. Now I have the bad battery life that many were complaining about. What a great fix from Apple, now it's bad battery life for all users. I'll give iOS 5.0.2 a try but if that doesn't work this is the last iPhone i bought.
Sigh...5.0.1 didn't work for me either....getting much worse battery performance. At this rate I will be charging it 3x a day.....
Same here guys....
Updated yesterday, re-booted my phone and finished up the day. I fully charged it over night and started to use it this morning. Made a few phone calls and received around 15 emails, battery dropped 10% in the first hour. Then, I did not use the phone and it dropped 15% in the next 60 minutes. So after 3 hours (2 hours standby and 1 hour of usage) I lost 30% battery.
I have no skype app running, have my email on push (as they should be and were on my iPhone 4) and have notifications turned on for the apps that I need. i also have setting time zone turned on because I travel and I do not want to change this manually every time. That's what it's for, right?
So in my opinion the update did not really help me and I already got 2 replacement phones from Apple since I bought the 4S.
This really needs to be addressed.
Fix that worked for us...We had several phones that experienced rapid drain following update... and the solution was to DELETE the mail profile and rebuild it. We had this exact same issue occur with a release of IOS4 and Iphone4s last year.... which is what lead us to try the fix again. It may not be the magic bullet for everyone but we are batting 1000 here.
