Should I update to ios 5.0.1?

please let me know if you succeed - I use ihpone as my work mobile phone, and currently nobody of my clients can reach me for 3 days already. I wonder If apple is going to pay for that! 🙂

I updated 2 iPhone 4's and an original iPad to 5.0.1. No issues whatsoever. In fact, my battery life has definitely increased. Today, for instance, after 9 hours on standby with a poor 3G signal and checking the lock screen a few times throughout the day, my battery is sitting at 97%.

iOS5 was a disaster for me. Left my 3GS completely bricked and unusable. However, Apple replaced it with a brand new 3GS so I can't complain! But yeah, I won't be updating to iOS5 - waste of time!

Deus_x, there is no way to roll back to the previous update in iOS 5 due to signature checks done by Apple. You can revert to 4 though only if you have SHSH blobs.

BTW, to answer the question, I'm only having battery issues. Everything else seems in perfect order. CDMA iPhone 4 32GB.

Dont update ..!!! The update made my ipad 2 battery drain so fast and not only me who had this problem alot of people too so wait a bit

Too late, I already did it. Gave mine a full charge Sunday, now it is Wednesday and the battery is down to 69% already. Is this what you are talking about?

My battery dont last a day i have to charge it every night !! Even when it is in sleep mode battery drains i use my ipad alot but before the update the battery would last a day and a half

Applenewb1e - the iPod icon was replaced with a Music icon with this update. Check all of your icon screens - it's there somewhere with all of your songs and playlists....

I had no problems with the iOS 5 until after installing the new iOS 5.0.1, the sound has gone and can't hear anything at all and that seems to be a common problem for a lot of people, I hope apple sort this out and make sure the next update has no faults whatsoever as I I'm sure you'd agree wouldn't want to something we spend or spent a lot on to go down the drain and would want its moneys worth so I want my money's worth for this phone and expect nothing but for the phone to operate the way it should, as far as you're questions concerned, as you can see from all the problems caused by this update, I'd have to say don't do it, If your phones working the way is should be, leave it like that, i made a mistake by updating and hope for it to get solved as soon as possible!!! I hope apple pays attention to our concerns!!!

i honestly cannot stand apple. They're customer service is horrible. Today I needed help, so I called them and they said for $30 they could help my problem. And I was like, is that a joke? My phone is new, I already forked out how much for it and now you want me to pay you another 30 bucks. NO WAYYY!! SO i go, I'll call my own provider. And hung out. And what did verizon do for me!!?? Everything, and didnt charge me a penny. This seriously might be the last time I buy anything from apple because they honestly suck and DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS, at all.

I'm guessing you've had your iPhone for more than 90 days. If you buy Apple Care it will extend your phone support and warranty to a total of 2 years. Otherwise after 90 days there is a charge for support. Not unheard of in electronics.

But if you seriously do not want to buy from Apple do research when you buy again and look for the company with the 2nd highest rated customer service.
