5.0.1 update--even worse battery life

After upgrading to 5.0.1 my iPhone is draining the battery even faster! Anyone else seeing this problem?

In addition to the problems noted by everyone above, I am also having a problem with charging just stopping. I use a Mophie Juice pack. Before 5.0.1, absolutely no power problems. After the update, my phone charges to 92% and stops. Then the Mophie Juice pack stops charging.

I also have problems with the phone "connecting" and "disconnecting" from the charger as evidenced by the sound normally heard when plugging the phone into the charger.

Sometimes I can get the iPhone 4 to charge to 100%, but then the Mophie stops charging. As everyone else has said, this must be a software problem.

I did this, Im running what just comes on the phone out of the box, minus adding email. I also went so far as to get into the iTunes folder under App Data and delete and re-download the ipsw file from Apple. I Restored as new and it did nothing. I have 1 page of icons and I have my MobileMe email pushed, everything else is off. Notification center and iCloud are both off. 40% drainage in 7 hours with 2 hours 23 minutes of use. And I can guarantee that I havent used it that much. I have been in class all night. I have 45 minutes on it, if that. Something is staying on and draining the battery. The only thing I have onthe phone is email and contacts. no music or app store apps whatsoever.

I was experiencing a very very short battery life ( few hours) and the 4s became hot to the touch. I started turning off photo streaming and I cloud features. Eventually I turned off all I cloud features and the problem resolved. Something also burned through my data plan in a couple of days. This was AT&T's mid sized plan that I had never exceeded. Incidentally I also turned off the auto time zone as it was not working correctly. Whatever it was the heating problem ceased and the battery life is now comparable to my 4 which is acceptable. The heating issue was so severe I could not keep the phone in my pocket and that too is now resolved. Just updated to the new software release with no issues but have left I cloud off so far.

Wiped phone, and restored everything from my computer on iTunes. Took a while but I have had absolutely no issues with battery. Maybe I'm just lucky. I don't live on my iPhone like some, but I use it enough. I only use about 40% of usable space on phone, less than 90 apps, 2 e-mail accounts and a lot of texting. Battery life on my 4 is far superior to that of my old 3G.

I too get worse battery, but seemingly its to to with 3G.

This morning I know I used the phone for 60 seconds and safari for about 3 minutes. Yet usage showed 45 minutes. Now I've switched 3G off it seems to be more improved.

With 3G and wifi off I'm getting a drop of 2% per hour. With 3G on I'm getting a drop of 1% ever 5-10 minutes.

I've also noticed that system services in location services have grey arrows next to compass calibration, diagnostics and mobile services. I wonder of that's an issue?

BTW have 4s 64gb

My O2 signal got worst since I switched from Sony Ericcson to iphone 4s. Last night I upgraded to ios 5.0.1 and it has been constantly Searching for signal and when it got it, it is only 1 or 2 bars of reception. I turned on Aeroplane mode overnight and battery was ok. But when I switched off Aeroplane mode, the battery drained much faster than ios 5.0. So Apple, pls do soething about it. I am not able to make receive calls and losing my battery life.

I upgraded to 5.0.1, my battery shows no improvement. Tech specs say 200 hrs of standby time, i am losing 30-35% in 8hrs with 3g,wi-fi, time zone and icloud turned off, that means it just wont last a day just on standby. On general usage, i am charging it twice a day or thrice some times, i have to thInk before making long calls. went to the genius bar, diagnosed my battery to be good(on which planet). It's high time apple figured out that a few of the batteries are faulty coz my mates 4s seems to be fine.

Today at 8 am I had a battery charge of 100%. On the train, I surfed for 20minutes, listened to 3 songs, and rang two people with each call lasting 4 minutes. By 3.45 pm, my battery life was down to 8%. The update has infected my iphone4s with a battery issue i Previously never had. I could at least make it through to the next day without recharging with considerably heavier use pre-update. The tech support people advised me that the issue is resolved, I advised them to read this thread! Absolute joke!
