Hi Everyone!

Just to share the information with you guys:

I have upgrade it to IOS5.1 last friday, and then drain it to 7% -> then reset all settings-> then full charge to 100%

My battery holds almost 3 days, sometimes WIFI on, Edge+3G also sometimes, when i need it. Everything else are off. i have a 4S. I can feel a bit of a battery increase.

I've found out something what causes the battery to drain:

it's iCloud!

Take a look at the mobile data trafific NOT using a WLAN-Connection. It adds approx. 1 kB of data traffic per second. This drastically reduces battery-life.

Disabling the services (Mail, Calendar.. find my iPhone etc) in iCloud doesn't help!

You have to delete the Account to stop this!!!

Rememeber to disable WLAN and enable "mobile Data" to cause data traffic to use 3G that you can monitor,

I am in no way an Apple basher but there is no reason that I should have to spend one to two hours to fix a problem they caused. For those of you that blames the users....wake up. I bought a new phone with features I would like to use. Why should I have to turn them off so I can use the phone? How can you blame users when my iPhone and iPad 2 worked just fine until I updated to 5.1. Now i watch both of them lose battery power just watching the power indicator.

You can't blame the apps I use or anything else. It all worked fine before the update.

I'm with many of you. My battery was bad before but worse now. And I'm not one who texts and stuff much. In fact, I may actually make calls/receive calls like once every few weeks, text like 5-10 times a day and play a few games about 4 times a day. I fully charged my phone last night and am less than half down now. Didn't make or get any calls today, sent only 4 texts today, and played Draw Something twice. Why in the heck should it be more than half dead just doing that? And no, I don't have stuff running in the background. No icloud, etc. With all the money we spend on these phones, we should never have issues like this. Hope a REAL fix comes faster than this supposed one did.

I would like to share my experiance.

I updated to 5.1

Then there were no loss of data or change of settings.Simply it was rstored from my bckup.

Then there was no change to the battery,it was draining as bad as it was with 5.0.1.

Then I restored the phone and did "set ups as a new phone"

Then didnt turn anything off,let it be in its factory settings. Now since three days,im experiancing a very god battery life. Now at the end of the day the battery is at 84% with over 12 hours of standby and 3 hours of usage.

Hope this helps.And I had my 3G off,used wifi.

I suggest to those who are still being trashed by battery issues to restore the phone as a new one.

Thanks

I updated to 5.1, fully charged the Iphone4 today at 8 am and now at 3.00 pm after 7 hours of stand-by time I have 83% battery left. My phone usage is 2 hours and 5 minutes. The phone was on 3G all aof the time, Wifi and Bluetooth were on for the entire day.

Normally I get 2 full days of usage on 3G, with Wifi and Bluetooth constantly on and close to 4 days on 2G also with Wifi and Bluetooth on.

After the update to 5.1 I set up the Iphone as a new phone and did a full reset in Settings.
