I do not want to receive the iOS update notifications from Apple, and have not found a way to disable them or get rid of the badge number on the settings app icon. For the badge number on the settings app, I checked the Notification Center and did not find anything for disabling them.
iPhone 4S, iOS 5, POS
+1 : I have the same question.
I have no battery problem with iOS 5.0, so I don't want to take the 5.0.1 ; i'm fed up with the notification on the Settings icon.
Not a big deal, but I want also disable it.
+500 : we also want to disable the token of the settings icon.
we are about to roll out 500 ipads to employees in my company, and we need to prevent them from doing ios upagrade by themselves. As much as possible
Disable manually, or ideally via security settings profile update (mdm)
Same here. Don't want to upgrade to 5.0.1 that I dowwnloaded on a Mac but don't want to use. After that the badge popped up on my iPhone and don't want to go away.
