I think davdch deserves a medal for answering all of these questions!
I think resetting all settings is a good idea after applying the 5.0.1 patch, just to kind of give it a refresh! I don't know the ins and outs of theiPhone OS but it does make sense.
Also, draining to zero/off once a month won't do any harm either. I remember when I first got the phone the battery was shocking. I did the reset back on 5.0 and a full battery cycle a few times and the phone gradually started to last longer...
Then the update came and it sent me back to square one... But the reset and battery cycle seems to have helped again, the battery seems to get a little better each day.
This is the best phone I've ever had - I've had an android and a blackberry. The 4S is amazing compared to both of the smartphone platforms I've experienced. Let me tell you - my android phone I had to carry a plug and cable around with me. That is what you call battery drain.
Hope you all start seeing your phone improve soon, follow the instructions here, look through your settings - don't turn stuff of you need/want on/use. But anything you think is pointless being on all day (for me Bluetooth) just turn it off.
Good luck!
