settings icon on iphone 3gs has a red 1 notification.

My iphone 3 GS settings icon has a red notification symbol with a 1 next to it after upgrading os to 5.01. I am unable to clear it.

I have the same problem on a brand new iPhone 4s - It came with 5.0 and I did a combined uprgrade and restore on iTunes. I have been through all the menu options inside Settings to see if there is something deeper down the menu tree that needs attention but no - the red 1 is very irrotating - it's looks untidy - I expect it will go away on it's own when they issue 5.02

I can't pinpoint what happened but I think the problem stems from getting 5.01 from 2 places automatic download and iTunes.

Even if the phone is on 5.01 and ready to go it seems iTunes can't restore an old phone without first downloading it's own copy of 5.01 and somehow building a complete package to put on the phone.

I think the Red 1 says "I have a new version of OS to install" but because somebody else (iTunes) did the install it never got to clear it's flag.

I think it's a factory reset and try again.
