Can we see the anniversary dates set for the contacts in the calendar?
iPad 2
A solution to the anniversaries problem was solved by me bycreating a Google calendar I copied all the anniversary dates into this calendar which I called Ganiversary. I then imported that calendar into ICAL and it seems to work fine. Since anniversaries and birthdays are relatively static, it is not a problem to add or remove one occasionly.
I'm very frustrated this is STILL an issue.
This is not a fix , but it's a better work around then creating repeating calendar events.
Create a new contact labeled something like, John and Janes Anniversary, place the anniversary date in the birthday field and save.
This is the problem folks and may be beyond the skills of the programers to figure out. An "Anniversary", if between 2 contacts, causes a conflict in programming dates/contacts. That is why you need to create a separate "Contact" anniversary date with those two couples (First Name: J&E, Last Name: Wedding Anniversary). Legally it is a different "entity" with it's own unique "birthday". Either that, or maybe some of the programers can't have anniversaries and they are being passive aggressive. (Oh snap) Just a thought. Of course, it is always easier to delete the "Anniversary" contact in the event of a divorce than to edit multiple entries.
Taking the birthday suggestion into consideration, I made a new profile with
first name: Jane & John
last name: Doe
company: Anniversary
then put anniversary date in birthday place.
WHen end it shows up in calendar, it also looks nice.
I add to contacts "Bill & Susie Anniversary" and add the anniversary date in the birthday field. Best I can do until Apple fixes it.
How long you can wait for such basic functionality??
So far I was using workarounds using iCal, but I've notice that app is no longer in app store 😟 Any ideas which app can you use to efficiently manage your calendar events?
Is there a solution to this issue in IOS10??
Would have thought by now Apple would have added the functionality the same as for birthdays showing in calendar.
I do not see a fix in IOS 10. Disappointed. I would also like to see the same for custom date labels crated in Calandars. For example, anniversary of death date or a date marker other than a birthday or anniversary so the calendar will automatically calculate the years (as it does for a birthday).
its 2016 and ios 10 and the "dates" on contact still doesnt show up in calednar as all day event as repeated ...for example anniversary
sad ...
is it working for someone ?
This isn’t perfect but set the date manually then set it to appear annually. It works for me :)
...2017 and this is still an issue??
