No Wifi after iOS 5 and iOS 5.0.1 updates

After the iOS 5 update, I had problems on my iPod Touch 3rd Generation with the wifi. It's grayed out and says that there is no wifi. I've tried everything, restores, resetting, EVERYTHING! So I went searching on the message boards, I'm not the only on with this problem. So I thought I would wait until the iOS 5.0.1 update to come out, maybe they would have fixed this problem. Still nothing. I know that this is not my hardware problem, so please do not even suggest it. I had perfectly working wifi before I updated, and I'm not the only one with this problem.

But if you have suggestions that have worked for you, please share.

I just want Apple to acknowledge this. It is a bit ridiculous. What good is an iPod Touch without wifi, its just a music player, and that is not what I want from my iPod Touch.

I recently updated my 3GS to 5.0.1 update and could not get it to find any WiFi Networks at all. I kept messing with all the settings on my network to see if maybe if I turned something off it would pick them up, but nothing was working. I did finally turn off my bluetooth then go back to my WiFi Network settings and then they just popped right up. Not sure why but when my bluetooth is turned on it will not find any WiFi but as soon as I turn it off they pop right up. I have a 3GS so not sure if this will work on any other phones. Hope this helps.

I have just started a new job and myself and a work collegue have recieved iPhone 4 phones at the same time. Whilst his phone connected instantly to the wifi network at work mine will not see any networks in range even though my laptop and all the other iPhones in the office can see multiple networks and connect to ours fine. I have been through everything suggested on the previous 4 pages of feedback with no luck. I can however go into the server room and standing next to the wireless AP I can see our network and connect to it with a maximum of 2 bars at a distance of 500cm as soon as I leave the room the wifi drops off. I have also tried a factory reset which made no difference either. Please Apple, tell me. Do I need to send the phone back to the place we purchased it adn get it replaced? nto very classy that it's brand new out of the box, one would assume you ran tests over all new devices to confirm wifi connecibility.

I don't know if this helps anyone else out there, but after a lot of trial and error, I finally got our iPhones/iPads to join our WiFi networks again after they refused to join them after the upgrade.

Tap "Forget this network"

Then try to join the network, but give a password that you know to be wrong.

When it complains, then give the correct password, and it will connect again.

Cheers

Well the whole reason of that is that you are leaving the wifi zone. Wait. Were you in a city or out of town?

Well if you are in a city it's harder to get reception because of tall skyscrapers and if you at in a city there is bad reception and there is nowhere to get the connection you need

Hope this helps!

Are you serious with that reply? Not once in my comment did I say I left the office. It's this simple. Every other device within the office (and I mean whilst in the office) including other phones connect perfectly to the wifi yet my phone will not even register any ssid's unless I stand right next to the AP. Don't bother replying though I have sent it back to the shop for a replacement. But next time how about giving an intelligent answer. Lol.
