How do I read iBooks on my Macbook Air

You actually can read any ebooks on your mac. I found this article that explains how trhough the wonders of google.

As a professor and presenter of training sessions internationally, I was pleased with the upgrade on my MacBook Pro that allowed me to see the ibooks. I frequently switch during presentations to and iBook as a part of my teaching.

I just purchased the MacBook Air and was really shocked that the iBooks were not supported! My primary purpose in purchasing the Air was so that I would not have to carry by basic MacBookPro with me on the road.

Am sure my case is unique in that I switch between presentations with video clips, audio clips, regular keypoint and/or ppt and then into various books and pdf's - now I can't go into the books seamlessly.

I would guess that Apple will add the iBooks to this new MacBookAir (3 days old!!)

iBooks is included in OS 10.9. You should find it in the Applications folder. It doesn't matter what kind of Mac you have as long as it is running the latest OS version. If it is not there, you may need to reinstall.

Dub, if Tom's suggestion doesn't work for youand two individual trainng sessions , call Apple. The phone support is amazing. I did pay for a year of one to one- l aready have taken four classes since Black Friday, when I bought the Macair.The classes, or if you live too far from an Apple store to avail yourslef of them, the help sections, are well worth delving in to- it is a well desinged, powerful platform, and you should be able to do whetever you want, it is just a matter of figuring out how. I hope I am not wrong!

I orignally could not read ibooks on my mac but was able to download the sofware upgrade and now I can. I also went to Amazon an downloaded software to read things form Kindle, which I have already used.

Of those whiney kids you speak of some of them will become the smart smart smart apple workers who will help design the technology you have deemed unuseful. Many college students have to have textbooks and other research books and it is a huge inconvenience when they can't download them to their macbook even though they had already bought it for their iPad, etc. Many people are switching over to kindle because they can not download books to all their devices. It is in apple's best interest to figure out a way for people to be able to download their books to all their devices.

In Mavericks and Yosemite there is an iBooks app on Mac computers, you should be able to redownload your ibook purchases in that, or copy them from an iOS device (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over to iTunes, then File > Move Books From iTunes to copy them into iBooks)
