iTunes Match keeps crashing while gathering information from my iTunes library!

I think I have found a work around.
Please folow the steps below;
1 Launch iTunes. Select iTunes Match in the left colmn and Stop the Matching process.
2 Return to your iTunes Music library.
3 CNTRL Click on the iCloud icon in the header. Select "iCloud Status".
4 Click on the Artist header to sort the library alphabetically by Artist.
5 Click on the first Artists track that shows the iCloud Status is "Waiting"!
6 Scroll down the the last track in the Artist "B" block. Shift Click on the "B" track.
7 CNTRL Click on any of the selected block of tracks and select ""Add to iCloud".
8 Go for a coffe whileiTunes Match three process scan and upload completes.
9 Repeat steps 3 through 8, selecting the next block to "iTunes Match".
Hopefully this will work for you!
When I say 'crash', I mean that Windows pops up a message stating that iTunes has stopped responding and it asks to shut it down. I look at the task manager and indeed, iTunes is dead and doing nothing.

Really? I don't get that option... Are you on a PC or a Mac?
Also now my iTunes is fully crashing out rather than just hanging... This is getting annoying. Still 4000 songs to upload.
I get the same Contextual Menu as you when I do a CNTRL Click outside the Blue Selected Block!
When I CNTRL Click on one of the "Blue" highlighted tracks I get the Add to iCloud Contextual Menu!
Ahhh... I have noticed that some of "my" "Waiting" tracks gives me the Contextual Menu you get. Unfortunately I do not know why that is that some "Waiting" tracks will give you the Add to iCloud option while others don't!

My problem on my Mac is a little different. Match appears to hang on one song. However, if I check my network connection, it's still sending out data at maximum upload speed. Wondering if maybe it *is* still working, just that the track display code has gone wonky.
In any case, update needed please Apple.
Just happy to hear I'm not crazy! Hopefully Apple will get a fix out for this soon but I've been experiencing it since beta 2, unfortunately.
I experienced repeated crashing while trying to sync/upload. I sorted my library by the Match column and looked at all tracks showing an 'error' status. Dealt with those (some were orphaned from the files, some were weird rips, etc) and restarted iTunes and Match. That solved it.
I'm having the same issue on my PC. I am trying to get my itunes library uploaded to the cloud so I can finally, once and for all, wipe this dinosaur and donate or sell it because I have a Macbook Pro now and have no desire to ever use a PC again.
With me, it says I have 3500 files to upload. It gets through anywhere from 5-10 files and then it crashes, and actually says "windows has closed this program" and offers to let me report the error to Microsoft.
When I look in the debug log, it's giving that wierd "attempt to locate xxxxxxxx bytes for NS/CFData"
I've rebooted, ran CHKDSK (the Windows equivalent of the Mac's disk utility - or the linux equivalent of fschk) and it didn't find any errors with the drive or file, security, etc.
So bizarre, not sure what to do but I really want to get my music up in the cloud, especially my rare disco music that you can't even buy in iTunes!
Why don't you just manually move those files over to iTunes on your MacBook Pro and upload from there?
I'm having the same issues on my PC, Windows is giving an error message every time Match starts synching, then closes iTunes. I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, didn't help. If I manually cancel Match, everything is fine, so it's definitely a Match issue. Frustrating!
For Windows users (and even some Mac users) that are still having problems with iTunes Match completing, here are a few of things to try...
Sign in as Administrator.
Virus Protection - Turn off any virus protection programs. (They can often interrupt connections, uploads, downloads, etc.)
If at all possible use an Ethernet connection from your computer to your network, not WiFi. The stability is far better as is the speed.
If you have to upgrade using WiFi avoid network interference from wireless phones (both cell and in-home), metal barriers, other wi-fi signals, microwaves, etc. Place your computer as close to the wireless modem/router as possible.
Reboot your modem/router; disconnect the power, wait a few minutes for the cache to clear and plug it back in. Wait a few more minutes for all network connections to be established.
If you're comfortable checking your modem's settings, look at your firewall settings and ensure that the ports iTunes uses, TCP ports 123 and 3689 as well as UDP ports 123 and 5353 are open and accessible. A majority of folks won't need to go this far, but for some users that may have tweaked their settings, this may be the issue.
Two things seem to stall the iTunes Match process, problematic songs/albums and server timeouts.
If iTunes Match is hanging, find out what the actual status is of the songs that haven't been uploaded. You can check the status of any song by adding a column to iTunes. Open iTunes and in song list mode click on "View" in the toolbar. Click on "View Options". Check iCloud Status (you can also check iCloud Download to see the song's availability later).
I ended up deleting about 40 obscure songs that came from custom made and ripped CD's, etc. They were in the "Waiting" state and nothing I could do would get iTunes Match to budge. (I still had the CD's anyway.) Once I removed them it finished instantly.
Ensuring that you have the best connection and speed your network can offer, without being interrupted by virus checks, etc. can often resolve things as well.
Hope this helps!
Same issue for me. I've had to force quit restart it about 10 times now.
3 days in and I'm still stuck on Step 2.
On the phone to Apple Care now. They say iTunes does not support external or network drives.
Maybe that's my problem? But iTunes was working perfectly fine before I activated Match.
