Hi does anyone know how long it will take for a song to change status from "waiting" to "matched" ?

After 8 hours of thinking that some sort of magic would happen and the status would change.
I went to Store->update iTunes match within iTunes. Unfortunately the 2k of songs I have are being uploaded rather then matched. Allot of those songs should of been in iTunes store. Maybe this is a way for Apple to find out what music there missing from there own libraries to improve the iTunes Store in the future.
Oh well its ok for now. However I still have songs that have errors and listed as ineligible even though they meet all the requirements in the documentation.
Still not a perfect system but its livable but completely unexceptable after all the hype and delays. At least its better then the MobileMe launch.
I've followed this until the last point when you say "right-click on song and select "add to Cloud" - I'm not seeing that option when I right-click on the song? Everything else I followed up to that point...
Can you advise please when you say "Check your Security Privacy settings in System Preferences, make sure you have Allow incoming connections for iTunes...in Firewall Options..."- are you talking about something in the browser (Firefox), or... Where exactly are you seeing "System Preferences"? Thanks!
THIS IS NOW HAPPENING TO ME - so frustrating - was OK until the last Itunes update.
I guess this thread is kind of dead, but I'll add my two cents...I had the same problem (I think) as those above. I was going through my library with a fairly fine-toothed comb, trying to correct albums and titles, etc. I don't have the enormous library that others have, but it is from many sources over many years. What I discovered is that when I tried to find some of the songs in the iTunes store (by right-clicking the song, and selecting "Show in iTunes"), in order to confirm that the songs were recognized correctly, I would sometimes get the message that although the song was "matched", the song was not available in the U.S. library. I slowly realized that the "waiting" songs were hung up by one (or more) songs that perhaps had a match (therefore did not need to be uploaded), but the match was not available (if that makes sense). Eventually, I found the problematic song, and deleted it from the "waiting" list, and after adding the other songs back to iTunes, they began to upload as normal. I suspect that the problems described here may be caused by at least one song that has a Match issue (like unavailable in your country), and the uploading for the remaining songs can't get past that. Hope this helps someone.
Well, this thread is still helping. I had about 30 songs that were stuck in no man's land. I used the instructions. Use the Store from the Pull down menu at top not the store in iTunes Preference. Overnight it worked its magic and now those empty clouds are gone.
I have songs that are in "waiting" for months. I ripped them and thought I uploaded them on my Mac back in Canada. They show as waiting on my MacBook Pro. Now months later they are still "waiting" on my MacBook Pro. I am in China now and I can get songs I uploaded months before but not those I ripped just before moving abroad. My desktop Mac with the actual files is in a storage locker so there appears I can not do anything but it is frustrating to see 100s of songs I can't play. It appears I should download more and more songs from iTunes on to my laptop and iPhone because I just can not rely on the WiFi and iTunes Match while in China.
Frustrated.
The other odd thing is it deletes my smart playlist I made based on iTunes Match status. It has done this twice. It doesn't seem to matter if I have a VPN on or not. I am trying to pretend I'm in Canada but it doesn't make the songs available.
The albums themselves I had already uploaded individual tracks, maybe I hit my limit, what seems to work best is me buying new music from iTunes. But I own hundreds of CDs not all of which I've ripped. But many I have I may have to prune my iTunes Match library or my main iTunes library which as mentioned previous is in a big hard drive in an old PowerMac in storage...
I have I tunes 12.01 running on Win 7. I had to re login to Itunes Match last week. It said all 13,000 songs were in the cloud and available on My Iphone 4s running 8.3. In Itunes, when I go to info, the ICloud Status on all tracks is "waiting"
My phone-tracks are playing fine. I tried downloading a song to my laptop-no issue. That track also appeared on my phone from iCloud and plays fine.
Should I be concerned?
I'm still having this problem. Could you explain how i can get the 'waiting list' to see which song could be the cause of my problem. I have a lot of songs still 'waiting' and am unable to make any playlists in iTunes because of this.
HI!
Im just wondering how I update Apple match after I go to the iTunes store?
Thanks!
Hey Masoon,
So I used your method, and a good chunk of my library did successfully upload - but not all of it.
Did you have to try this method several times?
Or did you find another solution?
Thanks!
Hey everyone. I am just now trying Match for the first time. My best solution that I can offer is to sign out of iTunes then sign back in. It should then pick back up on uploading. I actually had to do it a couple of times from both of my Macs to finally get everything uploaded.
