iPhone 4s low earphone volume problem

anyone else having this issue? my earphone volume often would lower itself by about half the volume I set to, and doesnt revert back to the original level, it seems it happens most often when I receives a notification when I got the earphone plugged in. I checked the volume lock, still shows that it's on max, and the volume adjustment buttons shows it did not change.

I had tried unplug and replug the earphone, also tried rebooting the phone, does seems to restore the volume.

The volume sometimes restores itself if I receives a notification, or launch a game, or enlarge a web page via safari... but the chances to restore the volume is still pretty low.

This is happening for me on iOS 5 and iOS 5.01, affecting both music and vidoes, doesnt affect notification or games.

Mine did the same today iPhone 4s with the latest iOS 5.1 . The headphone volume was set at max and suddenly only gave about 50% output !!. Didn't matter what I did the volume would not get any louder. After I connected to Siri it went back to normal ??. There must be a bug but it has not been sorted out in the first update.

Ok, I've just finished mucking around with it and if you are like me and had pause music with run OFF, then you're in a conundrum because to get her to speak you have to be running.

Here's how I fixed it:

1) Start a run (don't run anywhere though) and pause it (so your music is loud)

2) Quit to springboard and force-quit Nike+

3) Reopen Nike+, stop run (she won't say anything since you haven't moved)

4) Change pause music with run setting to ON
