HELP! Forgot icloud password & answer to the security question

Hello everyone,

I was registering to the Apple support communities the other day and in the process, which was strange since I do have an Apple ID (@me.com) since years now. I was asked for a password & when I entered it, it had asked me to change it. While I was doing that, I got a really urgent phone call & forgot this new password.

Now I have no access to the icloud services on my mbp & iphone. I don't even remember the answer to the security question and after trying possible passwords (it was literally like hacking into my own account...) my account was already locked down two times in the past 24 hours.

Is there a way to change the password? How & where can I contact Apple and ask them for help while proofing my identity?

Please help, I have valuable data there. :/

Open Keychain Access located in Applications/Utilities

Select Passwords on the left.

Type in your Apple ID in the search field top right corner of that window.

The keychain should appear in the list.

Right or control click that keychain then click Get Info.

Now select the Attributes tab.

Click: Show password

Unfortunately, it didn't help. The password in my keychain doesn't match the new one and the Mail app keeps on asking me for the password when checking for new mail. 😟

I can't change the security question as I can't enter my profile... 😟

If Apple would only have the option of sending a code to one's cell number... That would put me right back on track.

Try changing the password > Apple - My Apple ID

I understand but Apple does not have access to your Apple ID / user name and password.

Right now my account has been Locked for the next eight hours because of many attempts to answer the security question. Oh joy. Who knows, maybe I'll accidentaly stumble across the right answer and regain my data and services.
