iOS 5.1 severe problems to connect to a mobile phone network

My iPhone stopped working as a phone.

Can't make/send or receive calls and text messages after updating to iOS 5.1.

It's like the phone function of the iPhone has been disabled.

When I check my settings it appears that it is connected to my local service provider. In the top left hand corner of the screen I only get one connectivitiy bar.

No matter where I am.

What can I do? How can I fix this or do I have to wait untill the guys at Apple Inc. come up with iOS 5.2?

iPhone 4, iOS 5.0.1

02 Is the one that made the promise to replace the phone, on behalf of Apple, without confirming that with Apple.

Hey, Modular, just ask Kevin for $500, he will give it to you, no questions asked. And he has to do it, because I said he has to do it.

Also, it's interesting that you know all the intricacies of how an Apple Store Management structure works. Next time, as for the Store DIRECTOR. Marcel wasn't lying.

Your ignorance is not a cause for an emergency on their part. Take some personal responsibility.

I have no problem with making an appointment and waiting my turn a) if that was proportionate to the problem with the phone and b) if that was the process which had been described to me.

And yes I am entitled! I am entitled beause it was one in a series of faulty products I have purchased from Apple and that in itself makes me entitled. It is called customer service!

O2 did not make a promise to replace the phone on behalf of Apple. The store I purchased the phone in (I never claimed it was O2!) told me that Apple would replace the phone in store because it was clearly faulty and clearly not a mobile carrier problem.

I do not need a degree in Apple Store managment to work out who the senior person is. Just because everyone has Director against their name nowadays does not make the toilet cleaner a janitorial director!

The blind apologists for Apple are amusing. The staff member was incapable of engaging his brain and/or thinking on his feet. A guy behind in the queue who had been listening said that given the problems I have had they should just simply replace my phone. Now. That is what any sane person would say, who knows anything about customer service, who knows in which circumstances common sense should be applied and knows how a premier brand should treat their customers.

Quit the bleating! Stop apologising on their behalf! The whole experience is an embarassment for the firm. I was not looking excuses. There aren't any as I am 100% in the right.

Apple does actively participate on the site in fact. And if one's phone does not work I think it constitutes a technical issue.

Will take it up with Tim Cook. He could do with a distraction from falling profits.

Not sure what you're on about. My shares are up $56+ each since September 18th.
