Number of contacts different on Mac, iCloud, and Phone!

I was just sent a vCard via email, clicked on it, added to Address Book on my Macbook Pro, and put it in the proper group. I watched the wheel spin as the information was updated to iCloud and a few minutes later, checked my iPhone. The contact wasn't there.

This led me down the trouble-shooting path of turning Contacts off for iCloud on my Macbook, and then turning them back on to force a re-sync between my computer and iCloud. That seemed to go fine.

Then, I turned Contacts on and off again in the iCloud settings on the phone.

Now, I have different # of contacts on all three devices!

Macbook Pro: 1,613

iCloud.com: 1,600

iPhone: 1,607

Anyone else have this happen? Anything else I can do?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.1)

Try resetting the iPhone > Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

As for iCloud.com. Assuming you are using Safari, go to the Safari menu bar click Safari / Empty Cache. Quit then relaunch Safari. Login to iCloud.com, check your Contacts. If that didn't help, go to Safari / Preferences then select the Privacy tab then click Details. Type apple in the search field top right corner of that window then click Remove All > Done. (That should remove all Apple cookies)

Now go back to the Safari menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons, click Reset. Quit then relaunch Safari. Check your Contacts.

Open Address Book on the Mac then from the menu bar click Address Book > Preferences. Select the Accounts tab. Select iCloud on the left.

Make sure: Enable this account is selected. Now select the General tab. Make sure iCloud is selected from the pop up menu next to: Default Account.

Thanks for helping...I tried all these, and also ended up clearing all contacts out of iCloud and forcing a re-upload from my Macbook to iClould....and still...

...iCloud doesn't agree with the iPhone and the Macbook! However, the Macbook and the iPhone have the same number and seem to be in perfect sync - I've gone through the painstaking process of scrolling through each letter of the alphabet and comparing the iPhone and Macbook contents - they agree and the number of contacts agrees too.

So I don't know - maybe there is something buggy about the # of contacts listed on iCloud? Maybe one has to leave the browser open on the All Contacts page for quite some time?

Let's say that after this my faith in the Cloud for Contacts has been shaken a bit!
