Any clue when will this program end? I am wondering if they will send 7th gen iPod nanos as they might run out of 6th gen ones.

It will take a long time for them to run out of 6th Generation Nano service replacements. I would guess the program will have ended by that date.

If we received the email last year are we still eligible. I remember reading the email at the the end of the year or the beginning of this year sometime but everytime I enter the serial number and try to proceed it gives me a message of
"We're sorry, there was a problem processing your request.
Please try again in a few minutes or return to the Apple Support site."
I remember trying like 10 times and then gave up...but its been like this for a while. I keep retrying and get the same message. I cant go to an Apple Store because they dont exist in Puerto Rico. Im stuck. I know that my nano would not preserve battery very long & when the site checked my serial number, my nano was eligible...but I dont want to be charged any diagnostic fee either. Has anyone been charged a fee yet...being that this is something faulty in production...and has nothing to do with us.

As of November 14, 2012 the replacement you will receive is the 6th generation iPod nano. That's what I received after only 10 days of requesting a replacement.

I submitted my request on October 17th. Apple responded with an email that they would send a shipping box and that I should wait to receive it. A month later I'm still waiting!

Received replacement for 1Gb 1st gen yesterday - a 6th generation. Can't open it as its my daughters but guessing its an 8gb version. I am in big trouble as I replaced it for her while she is in Africa, promising it would be a 16gb 7th gen. She hates the look of the 6th gen! Oh dear is Santa listening?
